our tour can beat up your tour tour 2013: psychostick, polkadot cadaver, downtown brown - live

Josh “The J” Key, Guitarist comments:

“It’s about time we toured with Polkadot Cadaver! And the funniest band we’ve ever toured with, Downtown Brown, too? All I can say is: if you hate fun, don’t go to this show… you might have such a good time that you could suffer a brain aneurysm.”

BIO:

Most high school friends can’t even stand to look at each other once school’s out, but in the case of vocalist Rob “Rawrb” Kersey and guitarist Josh “The J” Key, they decided to spend even more time together after graduation.

Harnessing their crazy sense of humor and love of all things metal, they joined forces with drummer Alex “Shmalex” Dontre and bassist  Matty J “Moose” to create Pyschostick, a band they’ve coined as humorcore. With hilarious lyrics, heavy riffs, notorious stage antics and high-energy performances, the band has caused millions of laughs around the world and hundreds of mosh pits across the US, often simultaneously, since its birth in Phoenix, AZ in 2000.

Almost 100 percent do-it-yourself, Psychostick never strays from its signature sound, a combination of heavy music Chimaira, Machine Head and Hatebreed would be proud of and wit and humor that would make Tenacious D and Weird Al Yankovic holler with laughter.

With two full-length albums behind them – We Couldn’t Think of a Title and Sandwich - the band released their latest record, Space Vampires VS Zombie Dinosaurs in 3D, in 2011, following it up with a tour with Mushroomhead to add to their total count of 21 nationwide tours that have hit 47 states.

Been down in Norrköping last weekend started to record our upcoming album. Release mid-fall Hopefully September so we can get a chance to tour some more on this album.

We are very sorry and of course a bit mad that our planned tour dates got cancelled..
it been a very unserious situation.
When we finally got the gigs confirmed it was too late for our promoters to do proper PR for the shows.

Right now we are looking for new agents over Europe.

But Now we are heading for a golden future!

More about the last recording sessions.
We are recording together with Joona Hassinen (my longtime friend since we started up dollhouse) in Studio Underjord. Its for shure the most pro studio I’ve ever entered.
We got 12 tracks down on tape over an hour of spaced out rock music.

Check this out really nice!

I’ve been waiting for the new Cnoc an Tursa album to be released for a good while now; their 2008 demo has sterling songwriting, and their sound was begging for a bigger release. So when I heard that they had been signed to Candlelight Records in October last year, I started getting excited; the number of folk/black metal bands who have released near-perfect albums on candlelight is staggering – Winterfylleth, Wodensthrone, Falloch, Altar of Plagues, the list goes on. So, what was the result of such an immaculate pairing? The newly released The Giants of Auld, of course.

With a scream of “Sons of Alba, rise in the face of tyranny!” the album begins. And what an album; the sound is an intense blend of folky melodies, intense black metal…
