Crushing New DAWN OF AZAZEL Prog-Death Tracks Available

The Tides Of Damocles is the wrath-infested new full-length from long-running New Zealand-based progressive death metal unit, DAWN OF AZAZEL. A name referencing the ocean as a metaphor for the forces of life that constantly assail and erode the will of those who seek power, The Tides Of Damocles, independently released today, marks the trio’s first new offering in six years. Recorded, mixed and mastered last year at Mana Recording Studios (Cannibal Corpse, Hate Eternal, Goatwhore, et al) in Tampa, Florida by Brian Elliot and J.J. Hrubovcak, the ten track manifestation hurls forth forty-eight minutes of traumatic, scrupulously detailed death metal mastery.

Experience The Tides Of Damocles in all its visceral glory at THIS LOCATION.

DAWN OF AZAZEL has been regularly demolishing stages through New Zealand and Australia with future live demolitions to be announced soon. Stand by for additional announcements.

5/02/2015 The King’s Arm Tavern – Auckland, NZ w/ Suffocation, Decapitated

7/04/2015 Rust In Perth 2015 – Perth, AU

8/29/2015 Living Death Fest 2015 – Melbourne, AU

Influenced by the sonic obliteration of bands like of Order Of Chaos, Immolation and Sarcofago, DAWN OF AZAZEL was spawned in 1999 and rapidly established themselves as a force with which to be reckoned with relentless live shows throughout New Zealand and Australia. The release of two demos and a 7″ received widespread acclaim within the underground fanzine and tape trading community. DAWN OF AZAZEL would later release their debut, the volatile The Law Of The Strong, though Agonia Records in 2003 followed by an extensive tour through New Zealand, their first ever shows in Europe and a headlining tour of Australia. Second full-length, Sedition, was unleashed via Ibex Moon and found the band playing over one-hundred-and-twenty shows with their infamy further bolstered by the controversial mix of the band’s violent and Satanic lyrical content and frontman Rigel Walshe’s occupation as a police officer becoming the subject of television and newspaper coverage at home and abroad. Third offering, Relentless, was released via Unique Leader Records followed by another glut of tour ventures. Shortly after its release, Walshe was offered a position of a covert nature within the police department. During this period from 2010 through 2013 the band went on hiatus and focused on creating new material, reemerging with the deliciously punishing tidings of The Tides Of Damocles.

The Tides Of Damocles is out now via the official DAWN OF AZAZEL BandCamp page at THIS LOCATION and comes available digitally and as a stunning, deluxe, six-panel digipack with 20-page booklet.

Norwegian black metal act DEN SAAKALDTE launch a debut track from their upcoming album Kapittel II: Faen i Helvete, set to be released on May 27 in Europe and June 10 in North America via Agonia Records. The song is entitled Din Siste Dag and is available for listening at YouTube:

DEN SAAKALDTE steps out of the shadows after five long years of strengthening their dark musical identity and defining a more grim musical approach. Built upon intense and heavy emotions and featuring members of Gorgoroth, 1349, Koldbrann and Nidingr, Kapittel II: Faen i Helvete feels as the band’s most complete work to date. The album combines doom and black metal elements with clean vocals, spoken parts and obscure atmosphere. Eldur (Fortid) replaced Niklas (Shining) on vocals.

The successor to All Hail Pessimism (2009) was recorded in Strand Studio in February 2014. The album will be available as a 3 panel digipack CD, digitally and on vinyl (in three versions: black, blue and red).

Pre-orders are available:

1. Din Siste dag
2. Forbanna Idioter
3. Du Selvproklamerte Misjonær
4. Endeløst Øde
5. Djevelens Verk
6. Som Ett Arr på Sjelen

GLORIOR BELLI Reveal Upcoming Album Title Track

French black metallers with a heavy southern rock touch, GLORIOR BELLI, reveal the title song from their forthcoming album “Gators Rumble, Chaos Unfurls”. The third song to be released prior to street date is available for listening at Noisey, below. “Gators Rumble, Chaos Unfurls” will hit the shops on October 29 in Europe and November 12 in North America via Agonia Records.

Consequently climbing the ladder of innovation and artistic development, the French band GLORIOR BELLI managed to work out a very own sound and view in the often stiff frames found within the black metal genre. Descriptions such as “Avant-garde black metal bluesmen” (Pitchfork) or “bluesy doom-sludge” (Metal Sucks) are only the two sides of the same coin, that is about to reveal a new flip. “Gators Rumble, Chaos Unfurls” – band’s fifth full-length release – is yet another milestone of an unusual relationship between southern stylistics and crushing heaviness, all tied up and sealed by a twisted yet still refreshing take on music, straight from the suburbs of Paris.

The successor to “The Great Southern Darkness” (Metal Blade, 2011) will be available as digi-pack CD12″ Vinyl and digitally.

Track list:

I. Blackpowder Roars

II. Wolves At My Door

III. Ain’t No Pit Deep Enough

IV. A Hoax, A Croc!

V. From One Rebel To Another

VI. I Asked For Wine, He Gave Me Blood

VII. The South Will Always Know My Name

VIII. Le Blackout Blues

IX. Backwoods Bayou

X. Built For Discomfort

XI. Gators Rumble, Chaos Unfurls

TEMPLE OF BAAL Premiere New Track

French death/black metallers TEMPLE OF BAAL premiered the first track off their upcoming album entitled Verses Of Fire. The release is coming out on October 22 in Europe and November 12 in North America via Agonia Records. The stream is available at:

Verses Of Fire’s sound has been carefully manufactured by Andrew Guillotin in Hybreed Studios. Focusing on a more organic side thanks to the use of tube amps and natural drums, the production allows the natural old-school feeling of the band to shine through the whole album. Through ten tracks – lasting about an hour – TEMPLE OF BAAL explores a wide spectre of extreme metal: from raging blast beats and thrashing riffs, through haunted mid tempo vibes, and up to the point of band’s primal influence – the sinister sounds of early 90’s black/death metal.

New material will be available in digipack CDlimited double LP and extra limited gold LP (66 copies only).

Fans of the band can expect a fine blend between “Lightslaying Rituals” (sophomore release, 2009) aggression and the last split CD“The Vision Of Fading Mankind”‘s (2011) epic atmospheres.

Erotik Nekrosis video clip

Formed in 1992 by Morten Shax under the original name of Dim Nagel, Shax changed the name to ENDEZZMA in 2007 after recruiting Trondr Nefas and transforming the band into what it is today. ENDEZZMA’s first release, the Alone MCD, appeared five years ago, and the 2012 release of the full length album Erotik Nekrosis on Agonia Records on November 28 in Europe (February 5 in the USA), was delayed by a series of setbacks, culminating in the tragic and untimely death of Nefas earlier this year. The line up on the album includes Morten Shax on vocals, Trondr Nefas (Urgehal, Beastcraft, Vulture Lord) and Thomas Myrvold (Vulture Lord) on guitars, Sregroth (Urgehal, Åsmegin) on bass,  Jarle Uruz Byberg  (Urgehal, ex-Shining) on drums and L.F.Frøislie (Wobbler, In Lingua Mortua) on synth. With its cold atmosphere straight out of the original Norwegian Black Metal scene, and its eerie, seductive compositions, Erotik Nekrosis is a tribute to Nefas whose contribution to the scene cannot be underestimated.
