VICIOUS RUMORS began a massive European tour last week. However, we just found out singer Brian Allen will not be able to tour during the month of May due to sudden family matters. We wish Brian all the best during this time. Brian will return to VICIOUS RUMORS for the summer European tour July/Aug 2013 and The Metal Masters Tour featuring Vicious Rumors/Leatherwolf/Seven Witches from Sept 18 to Oct 25. With everything in place for May’s tour the show must go on.

 

Former VICIOUS RUMORS singer and Helstar main man James Rivera will fill in for Brian Allen during the month of May/June in Europe.

Electric Punishment is out now in Germany and Europe through SPV/Steamhammer and will be released in US/Canada on May 7. It will be available as a jewel case version, double gatefold colored vinyl and download.

New York Metallers PRONG will be heading over to Europe this summer, playing a handful of festival dates as well as a string of headline dates. The tour is scheduled to kick off June 23 in Clisson, France at Hellfest and will run through July 14 in Serbia at Exit Fest.

PRONG are touring in support of their latest release Carved into Stone was released in 2012 on Long Branch Records. The album which is quintessentially PRONG, stretches into the band’s earliest and dirtiest foundations on which the band was founded on to the present as a staple of today’s post-metal and rock scenes.

In late 2012/early 2013, Blood Ceremony enclosed themselves within a dank, tomb-like chamber to begin preparations for their third album. After a mind-numbing spell in the analogue womb of Toronto’s ProGold Studios, the band is now ready to unveil their newest, and most accomplished, musical offering: The Eldritch Dark. The debut single, Goodbye Gemini, can be heard now at metalblade.com/bloodceremony.

Recorded and mixed by producer Ian Blurton (Cauldron, Cursed) and mastered by Canadian recording legend Nick Blagona (Deep Purple, Rainbow, Crazy World of Arthur Brown), The Eldritch Dark is a full-length paean to the darker corners of folklore and legend. Containing eight tracks of black magic rock ‘n’ roll, the album crackles with the excitement of a nocturnal ritual.

Tales of witch-cult gatherings in wooded glens, pacts made in torch-lit abbeys and Victorian magic are accompanied by vintage-style hard rock riffs, snaking bass lines and stirring flute melodies. The Eldritch Dark also sees the band exploring a more folksier side of their sound; most evident in the hymn-like Lord Summerisle and the murderous folk-rock epic, Ballad of the Weird Sisters. Nineteenth century sorcerer, Oliver Haddo, makes a return appearance in the riff-hypnotic album closer, The Magician.

The Eldritch Dark will be released via Metal Blade Records/Rise Above Records in North America on May 28, 2013. BLOOD CEREMONY will be joining Kylesa on tour in North America throughout May and June.

Since the release of their sophomore album, Living With The Ancients, Blood Ceremony worked hard to solidify their reputation as a worthy live act. Beginning with a well-received showcase at the prestigious Roadburn Festival, the band capped-off a series of 2011 European dates with Sweden’s GHOST, playing a sold-out, headline show in London, UK. In the fall of 2011, they completed their first headlining tour of Europe, which saw the band received enthusiastically by fans in Scandinavia and Central Europe. This tour culminated in a performance at the Hammer of Doom VI Festival in Wurzburg, Germany. In 2012 they were direct support for GHOST on the highly successful “13 Dates of Doom” North American tour. Later in 2012, Blood Ceremony performed at Calgary’s celebrated NOCTIS V Metal Festival.

Italian symphonic death metal act FLESHGOD APOCALYPSE is currently working on their third full-length with producer Stefano Morabito at 16th Cellar Studio.

Cristiano Trionfera (guitar, vocals) states: 

“We are tracking guitars now, and the result is amazing… Stefano is nailing it and we know the album will sound incredibly powerful.”

For this album the band also used the precious collaboration of very talented guests, which gave a great contribution to make it a unique piece of art.

Tommaso Riccardi (guitar, vocals) commented:

“The concept of this album is based on the myth of the Labyrinth of Knossos and every character related to it. We focused on the philological aspect in order to represent all the elements of the classic world and, through a manic and meticolous research, we managed to create a metaphor with our times, as the maze can be associated with the endless search for what we really are. We’re sure you will be stunned by this as much as we are.”

Francesco Paoli (Drummer) adds: 

“It’s difficult to recap in a few words all the elements contained in our new work, but we are sure this will absolutely be THE album for us. We have spent a lot of time composing these new songs and, even if recordings are not finished yet, we can firmly declare that this material is simply incredible, more mature and definitely a huge step forward from all our previous works. Epic complex harmony, sophisticated touching melodies, a true vocal aggression, photonic grooves and back to articulated riffing… these are just few things you will find in this album. It’s fucking quality music, you will see.”

Southern hard rock quintet KYLESA scheduled a Reddit live chat session/AMA this Saturday, April 20 at 1:00 PM EST (4 PM PST). The band will respond to fans directly, via an “Ask Me Anything” thread.

Reddit’s “Ask Me Anything” (AMAs) are one of the most popular features on the heavily trafficked site. Past AMA’s have included sessions with President Barack Obama, Bill Gates, Jimmy Kimmel, Stephen Colbert, and Deadmau5 among others.

Recently, KYLESA announced a new summer tour. The “Ultraviolet Summer 2013 Tour” kicks off on May 10 in Gainesville, FL, and ends on June 22 in Savannah, GA. Support comes from BLOOD CEREMONY, WHITE HILLS, and LAZER/WULF. A full list of tour dates can be found below.

Odyssey, the new single from progressive instrumentalists SCALE THE SUMMIT, is available now on iTunes and Bandcamp, in addition to streaming on YouTube. UK doom legends, CATHEDRAL, will be releasing their final album, The Last Spire, on April 30. To celebrate the band’s storied career, CATHEDRAL has been featured on the cover of the May 2013 issue of Decibel Magazine. Recently, CATHEDRAL launched their final music video, Tower of Silence. The video was inspired by classic cult British film institutions such as “Amicus” and “Hammer House of Horror“, Tower of Silence was shot on location during the British Winter of 2012 at Gunnersbury Park Tower, London. It features a guest appearance from Purson’s Rosalie Cunningham, who places a symbolic black orchid on the tombstone of each member in the clips closing scenes. Directed by UK based Paraffin City Productions, Tower of Silence will be the last full production promo video ever made by this British doom metal institution.
