Push MOTORHEAD Into The Hall Of Fame

Adrenaline PRFirst of all, it is very important to note the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame is a bullshit shrine that has lost any prestige or honor. Due to its acceptance of less than honorable artists (Motorhead notwithstanding), the Hall has become nothing more than a credit, a resume asterisk, that can & should be exploited. Here’s a great way to get involved…

Support MOTÖRHEAD by hashtagging #InductMotorheadRRHOF and let the world know why YOU think that MOTÖRHEAD should be inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame!

We know what you’re thinking. What? MOTÖRHEAD isn’t in the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame yet? No, we can’t believe it either, and we can’t imagine why. Let’s show ‘em what they’re missing.

Music celebs and bands like Duff McKagan, Anthrax, Danko Jones, Dio (on behalf of his camp), and more have already joined in supporting MOTÖRHEAD on Twitter, and you should too!

Keep heavy metal alive in the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame by nominating the greatest heavy metal band of all time!

GENE HOGLAN, DON DOTY On DARK ANGEL Reunion Rumors

Recently, some rumors have been spreading across the web about an upcoming Dark Angel reunion. Drummer GENE HOGLAN and vocalist Don Doty have taken the time to make a statement addressing these rumors, which will hopefully put any confusion to rest.

Gene states,

“Howdy everybody. Now that I’m off the road for a few minutes, I’d like to address these Dark Angel rumors that are flying around. Yes, we have been talking about doing something next year, and although it looks like possibly some festivals could be in the works, right now it’s just speculation. Don Doty and myself have been in contact for the first time in many many years, and it’s been great to re-connect with my old friend. Fortunately, I’ve remained great buddies with all the DFA guys after all these years, and we do try to stay in contact with each other and see each other when we can, especially since we are all spread out over the Western US. We are indeed discussing the possibility of a reunion, and yes, the DFA guys are well aware of all of my other commitments, such as Testament, Dethklok and the like. So again, we are moving forward s-l-o-w-l-y, with hopes to getting Dark Angel’s wings off the ground for festival season in 2014.”

Dark Angel vocalist Don Doty adds,

“Members of Dark Angel are currently sitting down for talks for a reunion. This will be for the year 2014. All are excited. I was talking on a radio show recently and had said that all members would be attending, this statement may have been misunderstood. Myself, Gene, Mike, Eric and Jim are talking and when talks are complete a statement will be given. We will know more in the months to come. We will let you know as it unravels.”

Earlier this month, GENE HOGLAN announced the THE GENE HOGLAN EXPERIENCE, an intimate gathering of metal fans brought together to celebrate the legacy and career of one of metal’s most legendary drummers. Hoglan is pleased to announce two additional dates being scheduled as part of this touring event. Fans can now witness THE GENE HOGLAN EXPERIENCE on October 17 in Coralville, IA at West Music Coralville, and on October 19 in New Berlin, WI at Cascio Interstate Music. These dates come in addition to Hoglan’s September 20 appearance at Vern’s Tavern in Calgary, AB. See below for times and details and stay tuned for more dates coming soon.

GENE HOGLAN EXPERIENCE Appearances:

9/20 – Calgary, AB @ Vern’s Tavern – Part of Noctis 666 Metal Festival and Conference – 3:00PM

10/17 – Coralville, IA @ West Music Coralville – Signing TBA – 6:00PM

10/19 – New Berlin, WI @ Cascio Interstate Music – Part of Drummer Fest / FREE – 11:00AM

GENE HOGLAN came up with this concept to give the fans what they want: the ultimate “Gene” experience. In addition to telling personal stories, as mentioned above, Hoglan will reveal some of his secret techniques and tips to help all drummers and musicians of all levels. More information will be announced soon in regards to THE GENE HOGLAN EXPERIENCE.

Gene Hoglan is heralded and  is inspirational to many, even outside of his drumming and now celebrates a 30-year career in music as metal’s most in-demand legendary drummer. Hoglan is the only metal drummer to accomplish two #1 records on the Rock charts in 2012 with Testament’s Dark Roots Of Earth and Dethklok’s Dethalbum III. Testament’s Dark Roots Of Earth also went to #9 in the world and #12 in the US, and Dethklok’s Dethalbum III also went to #10 in the US, and thru a major lifestyle change has beat diabetes and lost over 160 lbs.

WAR FROM A HARLOTS MOUTH Announce Hiatus

Post-hardcore metal vanguards WAR FROM A HARLOTS MOUTH announced that they will go on an “indefinite hiatus.”

After 8 years, 4 critically-acclaimed full length albums, and several well-received splits and EPs in between, the band have announced a departure date at the end of December. Regarding their imminent hiatus, the band have issued the following statement:

“Today we are writing to all of you with some bad news. You might have heard the rumors or read some press releases and they are right, but only to an extent: WFAHM is going into an indefinite hiatus at the end of the year.

There are a lot of reasons for us to make that move and believe me when I say that it’s not an easy decision. But it feels like it’s something we just have to do at this point. The last 7, 5 years have been awesome for the most part and we’re grateful for all the experiences and new friends we have made while traveling the world to show people what we’re all about. We have toured places we never thought we’d get to see, such as Australia, Russia, almost the entire USA and all across Europe of course. We have made friends for life on the road. We have grown immensely as musicians and turned this band into something we are very proud of.

Being in this band has been a great experience for each and everyone of us and it took us to places and opened up doors we couldn’t even dream of. Being that the band started as a side project, we always stuck to the original spirit of making music that was outside of the box and therefor survived much longer than a lot of bands who were trying to be a part of certain hypes. We never cared for that, we just wanted to do our own thing and feel like we have achieved that. We want to thank everyone who’s involvement made it possible for us to do what we do… you most definitely know who you are.

The scene we’re a part of used to be an inspiring subculture but has turned into an abortion of mainstream accessibility, with choreographed stage moves and cute little matching outfits. It’s frustrating to witness and really makes it less fun to go out and play with new bands sometimes. However, this is not a breakup, it’s a hiatus. Sooner or later we might find the urge to come back and slay!”

The band has scheduled a final string of live dates, including some festival appearances. A full list of the band’s final confirmed tour dates can be found below.

WAR FROM A HARLOTS MOUTH released their latest record,  ‘Voyeur’ in November. The music video for the track “Vertigo,” is streaming here and WAR FROM A HARLOTS MOUTH Bandcamp page

BOMBUS Premiere New Video

Los Angeles, CAGothenburg‘s metal bastards BOMBUS have completed their second blistering video for their Century Media debut albumTHE POET AND THE PARROT. The video for “Enter The Night” was created by former bass player, Ulf Lundèn, who is now in charge of all the band’s artwork and shows the detailed love that Ulf took to create this work of art.

Bombus cover

The band has teamed up with METAL HAMMER (UK) to premiere the video. Check it out here: www.metalhammer.co.uk/news/the-new-bombus-video-is-pretty-freaky/

Here is what BOMBUS had to say about the video:

“Enter the Night is, obviously since we’re using it as a video track, one of our favorites on the album. The song pretty much sums up what we’re about as it starts out as an aggressive rocker and ends on a more barren note. Behind the video is ex BOMBUS bass player Ulf – who totally has outdone himself with this video - where he lets BOMBUS enter and travel through his version of the night. Enjoy and buckle up!” - BOMBUS

THE POET AND THE PARROT will be in stores September 17 and will be available as a limited edition Digipak with 2 additional bonus tracks, as a standard CD and as a gatefold vinyl (180 gram on black or dark green wax).

THE OCEAN Roadside Update – 7/31/2013

THE OCEAN are currently making their way through North America as part of the seventh annual Summer Slaughter Tour. Presented by Indie Merch Store, ESP and Guitar World, the progressive sound contortionists are leveling stages nightly alongside The Dillinger Escape Plan, Animals As Leaders, Periphery, Norma Jean, Cattle Decapitation, Revocation, Aeon and more.

Founding guitarist Robin Staps comments of the trek:

“Summer Slaughter has been a blast so far… we struggled with some technical issues in the beginning and, and finding a setup/routine that works within those 10 minutes changeovers wasn’t easy, but we’re there now, and have been thoroughly enjoying the past few shows. More good stuff to come!”

THE OCEAN have added a number of last minute US headlining shows on the Summer Slaughter off days which include performances in Hartford, Omaha and Vancouver as well as a very special meet & greet on August 6 in Brooklyn, New York at Saint Vitus Bar.

Elaborates Staps:

“On August 6th, we will all be hanging out at Saint Vitus bar in Brooklyn, where we played a great show in 2011 with support from Pelagic Records recording artists Family, and The Binary Code, as some of you may remember. We are stoked to see these two awesome bands perform at Saint Vitus Bar again, as well as Black Table. Rumors have it that there is this band called ‘Pelagial’ playing as well, we’re very curious to find out what that is all about… we will all be there to sign whatever stuff you bring, preferably foreheads, melons or live animals, so come say hi if you’re from the NYC area!”

Following the band’s stateside takeover, THE OCEAN will play select shows throughout Taiwan, China and Russia before embarking upon a full European headlining tour set to commence on October 29, 2013. Support will come by way of Norway’s Shining, Poland’s Tides From Nebula and France’s Hacride. See all confirmed dates below.

In related news, THE OCEAN recently launched a brand new video for “Bathyalpelagic II: The Wish in Dreams” from their most recent album, Pelagial. The band’s first official music video, not counting previous videos composed of live footage, was directed by Alexander Kraudelt and Lukas Hambach and produced by Frameshock, with additional visuals by Craig Murray. Upon initial post, the video was instantly censored by YouTube because of nudity but is now available via Vimeo. (Update: the video is back on YouTube and is age-restricted)

“…ambitious and adventurous…” - Terrorizer

“The sixth album from German post-metal doombringers THE OCEAN is huge… In the course of the record, tender piano interludes get stomped on by Mastodon-shaped footprints, lush strings work next to bulldozing double-kick work, and, at the end, the submarine crashes at Melvins tempos” – Spin

“…a hallmark album for a gifted team of artisans… Pelagial is one of the most invested albums THE OCEAN has yet conceived. Prepare to be not only submerged but actually touched by this album” — Blabbermouth

“Pelagial is brilliantly written, expertly executed and filled with the kind of songwriting most bands can only dream of” – Crave Online

“Pelagial resonates so deeply because its sonic continuity is matched with shifting, unified composition. The album viscerally depicts the spectrum of submersion while highlighting the musicians’ versatility and cohesion. The band has never written more intriguing music, and THE OCEAN COLLECTIVE has never been a more apt name” – MetalSucks

“…a journey within itself…” — Metal Insider

“…destined to be one of the year’s best releases” – Echoes And Dust

“Creating music with a real meaning cannot be taken as a hobby. Either you put everything into it and make your message known or you don’t. Their correlation between diving deeper into the ocean and diving into the inner workings of the human mind is astounding… you would be a complete fool to not pick up this true work of art” – New Noise Magazine
