Push MOTORHEAD Into The Hall Of Fame

Adrenaline PRFirst of all, it is very important to note the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame is a bullshit shrine that has lost any prestige or honor. Due to its acceptance of less than honorable artists (Motorhead notwithstanding), the Hall has become nothing more than a credit, a resume asterisk, that can & should be exploited. Here’s a great way to get involved…

Support MOTÖRHEAD by hashtagging #InductMotorheadRRHOF and let the world know why YOU think that MOTÖRHEAD should be inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame!

We know what you’re thinking. What? MOTÖRHEAD isn’t in the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame yet? No, we can’t believe it either, and we can’t imagine why. Let’s show ‘em what they’re missing.

Music celebs and bands like Duff McKagan, Anthrax, Danko Jones, Dio (on behalf of his camp), and more have already joined in supporting MOTÖRHEAD on Twitter, and you should too!

Keep heavy metal alive in the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame by nominating the greatest heavy metal band of all time!

GWAR Endorse Super Bowl Halftime Show Petition

After a week and over 35,000 signatures, Antarctic overlords GWAR finally have officially reacted to the petition started by Jeff Cantrell of Morehead, Kentucky on Change.org to have GWAR play the Super Bowl Halftime Show.  The petition can be signed at Change.org/GWARBOWL.

“It has long been the joy of GWAR to submit the human race to any number of hideous tortures, and I can’t think of anything more horrible than you having to watch acts like The Black-Eyed Peas and Bruno Mars perform. So the temptation to ignore this is great! But then you start thinking about all of the people that who have never experienced GWAR before, and will be forced to do so if we do get the gig, well, at that point my colossal mega-ego kicks in and I am all over it.”

After a long and wet fart, Oderus continued…

“I really don’t think we should be limited to playing the halftime show… I am offering GWAR as an actual team that could complete in the NFL. Think of the titanic struggle involved as the NFL submits their best players, hell, we could play against all the teams at once and still emerge victorious. For too long has the NFL ignored the obvious fact that the players should be naked, blind-folded and armed with battle axes, that land mines should litter the field and whalers should hurl harpoons randomly from the stands. GWAR is throwing our entire cosmic weight (and we are fairly hefty) behind this petition, and command all of our followers, their families, and indeed anybody who has ever existed to sign this fucking thing, and in fact for those who have already signed it to create multiple fake email addresses and sign it again!”

And now to top it all off, today GWAR is ready to bring everyone a little holiday cheer with a select number of shows this December. That’s right it’s Christmas Time with Santa Oderus.  These three shows are set for December 27 in New York at Irving Plaza, December 28 in New Haven, CT at Toad’s Place and finally a show in Richmond, VA on December 29 at The National.  Tickets for all three shows go on sale this Friday.

In support of Battle Maximus, GWAR will be heading out this fall on the “Madness at the Core of Time” tour. The tour, which features a completely brand-new show full of slavering creatures and deserving victims, is set to kick off October 2 in Columbus, Ohio and runs through November 17 in Washington, DC. GWAR shall be joined by deathcore heavyweights and label-mates Whitechapel, Richmond, VA thrashers Iron Reagan (featuring Municipal Waste singer Tony Foresta) and A Band of Orcs (who are actually a band of Orcs).

The title track from Battle Maximus is streaming HERE.

Check out a stream of the song “Bloodbath” HERE.

Battle Maximus can be ordered from Metal Blade Records HERE, Amazon and iTunes.

IN SOLITUDE Premiere New Single

Head over to the VICE’s music destination, Noisey, to listen to a brand new track from Swedish classic heavy metal band, In Solitude. Click HERE to stream “A Buried Sun.” The band’s new album Sister is dropping in North America on 10/01 and will be available to fans digitally, on CD, and 180 gram black vinyl. Fans can check out the first single and title track “Sister” at MetalBlade.com/InSolitude.

Fans can also pick up the upcoming issue of Decibel Magazine, November issue #109-out October 3, which features In Solitude on the cover which was shot by internationally-renowned metal and rock photographer Ester Segarra in Sweden. If you aren’t already a subscriber you can check your local bookstore or order from Decibel directly at the following location.

“Sister” was recorded at Studio Cobra in Stockholm, Sweden during March 2013. The album was produced and mixed by Martin “Konie” Ehrencrona and stands as a logical next step above and beyond its predecessor, “The World. The Flesh. The Devil.” In Solitude’s strength resides in their ability to craft dark and oppressive atmospheres within the auditory realm of classic heavy metal. “Sister” compounds this trademark sound further, beginning with the acoustic intro, “He Comes,” and saturates the record in an aura of uniqueness; see: “Lavender” and the title track.

The album concludes with an 8-minute, driving, near trance-like opus that features guest guitarist Pelle Forsberg (Watain). Additionally, Jarboe of Swans fame can be heard on “Horses in the Ground.” Moods range from Mercyful Fate-esque guitar flavors, shadows of Black Sabbath, the heavy dissonance of Swans, to straightforward, earworm riffs. In any case, one thing can be said for certain: their delivery is as genuine as it is impressive.

North American fans will have an opportunity to see In Solitude live this Fall. The band will be supporting Watain on their “Wild Hunt” tour beginning on October 8 in New York City. The tour also features support from Tribulation. Dates can be found below, as well as on facebook.com/insolitudeofficial.

CANNIBAL CORPSE Announces 25th Anniversary Shows

Cannibal Corpse will be wrapping up their 25th anniversary celebrations for 2013 with a pair of shows in Florida, which has served as the band’s base of operations since relocating to Tampa from Buffalo, NY in 1994. The shows are scheduled for November 29 in Ft. Lauderdale, FL at the Culture Room and November 30 in Tampa, FL at the Brass Mug. Tickets will be on sale this Friday at ticketmaster.com for the Culture Room and TBA for the Brass Mug.

Founding member and bassist Alex Webster comments:

“We are very excited to be doing these shows in Florida this November. We formed the band in the first week of December back in 1988 so these shows will be happening almost exactly 25 years after our formation. It will be great to celebrate our band’s anniversary in the state that helped put death metal on the map. Also, we are very happy to be able play Ft. Lauderdale to make up for the show we missed there in June. And I think fans in both cities will be happy when they see the ticket price for these shows!”

Recorded over a two evening NYC headlining stint at both NYC’s Bowery Ballroom and Brooklyn’s Music Hall of Williamsburg last winter, Spitting Fire Live showcases HIGH ON FIRE at its incendiary best, containing songs from each of the band’s critically acclaimed studio albums including last year’s celebrated De Vermis Mysteriis.

 About HIGH ON FIRE:

Universally recognized as one of the most potent acts in music today, HIGH ON FIRE creates modern heavy metal that merges primal fury and aggression, hesher bombast and hall of fame heaviness.  Described as “a supersonic exercise in conquest by volume,” HIGH ON FIRE has rewritten the hard rock rule book since its formation in 1998, forging a style and sound that is both critically celebrated and absolutely unique. The group features vocalist and cult guitar hero Matt Pike – also a founding member of the famed underground band SLEEP — along with powerhouse drummer Des Kensel and talented bassist Jeff MatzPike was named as one of Rolling Stone‘s “New Guitar Gods” and is one of rock’s most charismatic figures. HIGH ON FIRE‘s latest album De Vermis Mysteriis was released on April 3, 2012.
