Grinding Dissent is a track from RAMMING SPEED’s Kurt Ballou-tracked Prosthetic debut, Doomed To Destroy, Destined To Die, due out June 25 on CD, LP, cassette and digital download.

The band commented on the track as follows:

Grinding Dissent is largely about America’s facade of righteousness and freedom. A government that is ‘for the people’ may or may not have originally been the goal, but in this day and age, it’s obvious that protest and free speech aren’t welcome. Our police departments have military-grade weapons turned on civilians to keep us quiet while politicians smile and shake hands behind closed doors. Musically. the song starts off with punishing D-beat and ends with Ferrari-sized, Piña Colada-chugging twin guitar riffage! Put this shit on 11, crack a beer and scream at the sun.”

Head to PROSTHETIC’s web store now to check out pre-order packages for Doomed To Destroy, Destined To Die, which include a mail-order exclusive clear haze/neon green vinyl variant along with an exclusive t-shirt or long-sleeved shirt featuring the album’s artwork, featured above. The band is living up to their reputation as “one of the hardest-working bands in heavy metal” (Noisecreep) on a tour with Goatwhore, 3 Inches of Blood and Revocation; they will continue to tour the US with Valient Thorr and Gypsyhawk throughout the rest of the summer.

LOUNA: Hot Russian Singer! – Tons of New Album Promo Crap

Russian rockers LOUNA are pleased to share a new, exclusive video interview with Revolver Magazine. In the interview, the band discusses the new album Behind a Mask, rewriting their songs in English, misconceptions about LOUNA based on stereotypes, and more. You can watch the video now at Revolvermag.com.

LOUNA is poised to take over the American hard-rock scene with their new album, Behind A Mask, in-stores and available online April 30, 2013 via Red Decade Records and MEG/RED. Behind A Mask will open the eyes and ears of the American rock music scene by showcasing the pure blistering talent of LOUNA and the soaring vocals of the band’s lead singer Lousine “Lou” Gevorkian (in a world that has become immersed in autotune and over-production, Behind A Mask boasts true musical talent with only 10-15 seconds of vocal correction on the entire 45-minute record). Behind A Mask features 10 of the band’s best songs from their first two albums and have been painstakingly adapted into English by American producer and lyricist Travis Leake (the SLoT). The album was mixed by renowned producer/engineer Dan Korneff (Breaking Benjamin, The Pretty Reckless, Papa Roach, My Chemical Romance, Paramore) and mastering duties were handled by the legendary Ted Jensen of Sterling Sound, New York.

Relapse Records is extremely excited to announce the signing of Brooklyn, NY blackened sludge trio Mortals! Formed in 2010, Mortals (Elizabeth Cline, guitar & vocals; Lesley Wolf, bass & vocals; Caryn Havlik, drums) quickly built a reputation for their harrowing concoction of black metal, stoner-swamp-sludge and doom metal, being described by MSN’s Headbang blog as an “engrossing and devastating version of modern metal.” and by Meat Mead Metal as “massive and crushing.”

The band will be entering the studio this summer to record their Relapse Records full-length debut and follow up to their critically acclaimed, self-released EP Death Ritual. Listen to the title track from the EP here.

The group commented on the signing:

“It’s unbelievable that we now have the support and backing of a label like Relapse whose roster of incredible talent is one we’ve long followed. We’re so excited that this label is offering us the opportunity to share what we’re doing with the world. Pass the whiskey!”

Additionally, the band will be hitting the road for a string of east coast shows starting May 3 in Philadelphia, PA including dates with Mutilation Rites, East of the Wall, Woe & Fuck The Facts. A complete listing of dates is included below.

THE CONTORTIONIST Part Ways With Lead Singer

(NEW YORK, NY) – THE CONTORTIONIST announced the departure of their frontman Jonathan Carpenter with his interim replacement in one fell swoop. Jonathan and his long-time girlfriend will be expecting their first child and Carpenter has made the decision to focus on his personal life. Mike Lessard of LAST CHANCE TO REASON will be taking on vocal duties while the band finds a permanent replacement.

THE CONTORTIONIST: Robby Baca (Guitar), Joey Baca (Percussion), Cameron Maynard (Guitar), Christopher Tilley (Bass Guitar)

Statements from each of the parties can be found below.

“It’s going to be a jarring change of pace for my life, not being on the road most of the year. Making songs with the band and then performing them in front of the best fans has been a once in a lifetime experience. I wouldn’t trade the perspective I’ve found in the past few years for anything. I got to meet so many amazing people and see a good chunk of the world. I absolutely intend to keep creating and playing music in the future, albeit in a more personal pursuit.”

“I will miss seeing everyone in the TC family very much. I wish the best to all of my band buds and everyone who supports live music and all this heavy banger music we’ve been making. I feel very excited for my future with the love of my life and our pups, and our little one on the way.”

“Music has always been one of my passions and that’s what drew me to this band in the first place. The music comes first, and I know that the talent of the band will rise above this member change and they will find a new arrangement that will blow your minds.” – Jonathan Carpenter

“We are sad to see Jon go, but at the same time remain fully supportive of his decision. We look forward to the process of finding a new vocalist and writing a new record.” – Robby Baca

“I’m happy to be helping my friends in The Contortionist for the next few months on tour as a temporary vocalist. I’ll be returning to my duties in Last Chance to Reason once these dates are finished in May. I look forward to seeing a bunch of new and familiar faces in the months to come, and to sharing new music from LCTR in the near future!” – Mike Lessard

THE CONTORTIONIST released Intrinsic earlier this year to much critical acclaim. Landing at number #107 on the Billboard Top 200, #15 on the Hard Music Chart and #3 on the New Artist Chart, it was the most successful first week the band has had to date. It’s also on sale now for $6.66 here!

The band recently finished a batch of successful dates with DEFTONES and will be appearing at this year’s NEW ENGLAND METAL & HARDCORE FESTIVAL next month. They’re hitting the road with label-mates, WITHIN THE RUINS next week and will be supporting AFTER THE BURIAL in the coming months.

“The band’s ability to balance chaos and solemnity have never been better. Breaking from soft, ethereal passages into grueling, mosh-ready grooves at the drop of a hat” – Altpress.com

“The Contortionist are, without a doubt, one of the most exciting young prog-metal bands on the scene today” – MetalSucks

IMMOLATION Unveil Track Listing, Album Artwork

Logo: Nuclear Blast Records

New York death metal legends, IMMOLATION, unveiled the artwork and track listing for their upcoming ninth full-length album Kingdom of Conspiracy. The cover imagery was brought to life this time by no less than Pär Olofsson (IMMORTAL, THE FACELESS, ABYSMAL DAWN).

“The figures in the artwork have all been bound and chained and have their eyes and mouths sewn shut symbolically, showing the chilling of speech and the intentional blinding of the masses,” explains guitarist Robert Vigna.

“They all make up the huge ominous structure behind them, which is symbolic of the growing security state as well as our failing structures today, and how they are slowly and methodically consuming and controlling us all. It has a very Orwellian feel to it, which is what we were going for since the album is very dark in a slightly different way.”

In regards to the album’s lyrical content he continues:

“The album deals with the world today and the slow unraveling and breakdown of our societies and the systems and structures behind them. It speaks of the human side to all this and how we have all lost our way and have fed into these very systems that are slowly coming apart. This is the common thread running throughout the album and the cover paints a very dark picture of the future, where these systems have completely absorbed our world, and our freedoms and we have become a part of the very fabric of these structures that we have created. Each song is a symptom of this mass sickness that has brought the world to the point it is at now, and we paint a very bleak picture of this slow and gradual breakdown and the human failures that sped this process along. This is the Kingdom of Conspiracy.”

The follow up to their 2010 release, Majesty and Decay, will be released on May 10 via Nuclear Blast. The album was recorded at Sound Studios in Millbrook, NY with longtime producer Paul Orofino, and mixed and mastered once again by Zack Ohren (ALL SHALL PERISH, DECREPIT BIRTH, SUFFOCATION).
