MONSTER MAGNET New Song, Announce Tour with ROYAL THUNDER, ZODIAC

MONSTER MAGNET will be releasing their new album Last Patrol October 15 via Napalm Records. Dave Wyndorf and Phil Caivano produced Last Patrol, while Evil Joe Barresi mixed the album with additional production duties handled by Matt Hyde. The artwork was created by John Sumrow with consultation coming from Chris Ryall and designs by Ryan Clark for Invisible Creatures Inc. The album will be available as a Limited Edition Digipak which contains two bonus tracks, standard CD, 2LP and digital format. The album is available for pre-order on Amazon.

Today MONSTER MAGNET has teamed up with Crave Online for an exclusive premiere of a new track from Last Patrol.  Get a first listen to the song “Mindless Ones” HERE.

In support of Last Patrol, MONSTER MAGNETwill be embarking on a full-blown North American Tour!  Although the band has toured Europe relentlessly over the past decade, this is MONSTER MAGNET‘s first full North American tour in over 10 years!  The band is eager to hit the road in the states for the first time in what seems like forever. Prepare to hear MONSTER MAGNET classics and new cuts from Last Patrol for the first time live! Support will come from Royal Thunder and Zodiac. The tour is scheduled to kick off November 14 in Grand Rapids, MI and will run through December 14 in New York, NY.

Frontman and MONSTER MAGNET mastermind Dave Wyndorf checked in with his thoughts about Last Patrol:

Last Patrol is a return to our roots in terms of vibe and recording style. It’s full-on psychedelic space-rock with a 60′s garage feel, recorded almost exclusively with vintage guitars, amps and effects in our hometown of Red Bank, NJ. The songs are a kind of Space-Noir, tales of cosmic revenge, peaking libidos, alienation and epic strangeness. It’s a weird trip through the back alleys of a dark, retro-future, which not by coincidence very much resembles my own life. (laughs) The lyrics aren’t fantasy really, rather a recounting of my musings on, observations of and general emotional reaction to my life and environment during a 1 week writing period in February of 2013. But I tend to use the vernacular and imagery of science fiction and surrealism to express myself and that’s where these lyrics get trippy. There’s also our cover version of Donovan’s “Three Kingfishers” which I thought fit the mood of the album.”

Last Patrol was produced by Phil Caivano and myself with an effort to bring a home grown feel to the whole affair. We had been doing smaller projects out of Phil’s “Studio 13″ recording space and I really felt comfortable there so it was the natural choice on where to record the next full-scale Monster Magnet album. Phil and I grew up together and have a shared love of some very particular vintage music and styles. And everybody in the band played their asses off on this one.”

Check out the first clip of behind-the-scenes studio footage from Boston grinders RAMMING SPEED, which features video of their drum-tracking session at GodCity Studio with Kurt Ballou (Skeletonwitch, Converge, Black Breath) below.Watch the Video

Having just finished touring alongside Goatwhore, 3 Inches of Blood and Revocation, RAMMING SPEED will hit the road once again tonight, this time with Valient Thorr and Gypsyhawk. Full details can be found below. Lauded as “one of the hardest-working bands in heavy metal” (Noisecreep), the band will also be hosting a series of shopping spree-style contests along the way at select record stores. Watch the over-the-top hilarious infomercial about the contests HERE for more details.

RAMMING SPEED’s Prosthetic debut Doomed To Destroy, Destined to Die – out June 25 — was described as an “aural feast” by Decibel, who described the band’s new music as “a pinch of D-beat, some grindcore and a little death metal.” Check out a lyric video for Grinding Dissent here, or stream the title track here. You can pre-order the album on a variety of options including CD, LP (including a mail-order exclusive clear haze/neon green variant) or cassette tape along with an exclusive t-shirt featuring the new album’s cover artwork at the Prosthetic web shop: http://www.indiemerch.com/prostheticrecords/band/ramming-speed

EPHEL DUATH Finishing New Album

Next July, experimental metallers EPHEL DUATH will return to Mana Recording Studios in St. Petersburg, Florida. Together with producer Erik Rutan (Cannibal Corpse, Goathwhore, Hate Eternal) the band will complete the recording sessions for their new album started last February, and do the final mix. Alan Douches will master the songs at his West West Side Studios, NY.

EPHEL DUATH’s new album will once again feature the incredible Marco Minnemann (The Aristocrats, Kreator, Necorphagist) on drums, joined this time by his band mate Bryan Beller (The Aristocrats, Dethklok, Joe Satriani) on bass.

The recording line-up is as follow:

Davide Tiso – guitars
Karyn Crisis – vocals
Marco Minnemann – drums
Bryan Beller – bass

Featuring 8 new songs and reaching over 55 minutes of total length, EPHEL DUATH’s new album is a multilayered hybrid of death metal, jazz and post rock, blended together with a strong will to experiment and with no boundaries in sight.

“I wanted this album to be a strong statement,” comments Davide Tiso.

“And I believe we achieved that. Every time I put together a release for Ephel Duath, I deal with it as if it was our last. Would I be OK to let this album be the band’s last shout? Yes, I definitely would. I compose music to primarily please myself; doing it puts my mind in a very specific place, a spot where I feel fitting-in much, much better than in everyday life. Playing my guitar for Ephel Duath I get the peace and the release I need to keep myself going. I’m an avid metal listener but when I play for Ephel Duath I don’t feel the need to bring my music to fit any parameters, at the same time I don’t put any efforts whatsoever to sound different: I just let go and navigate.”

“Songs are coming out effortlessly and quicker the older I get, and I believe that with this new album I reached the highest level of intensity of my entire musical career,” continues Davide.

“Lyrically the new songs dig deep in higher self subject matters, combining brutally visual imagery with a painfully honest soul searching quest.”

Some of the new songs titles are: Tracing the Path of Blood, Feathers Under My Skin, When Mind Escapes Flesh.

EPHEL DUATH’s new album will come out in the fall of 2013 on Agonia Records, it will be available in digital, CD and vinyl version.

EXUMER Announces Only U.S. Appearance of 2013

German thrash veterans, EXUMER, confirmed a New York City show on September 21, 2013 at The Paper Box in Brooklyn, NY. This will be the only U.S. appearance in 2013 for EXUMER and the band‘s second visit to the United States. Main support will be Florida death metal act MALEVELONT CREATION.

Vocalist Mem V. Stein comments:

“We are beyond thrilled to be finally playing in NYC. We haven’t played on North American soils since the THRASHO DE MAYO festival in L.A., four years ago. RAMMING SPEED Stream New Track, Reveal Album Info

Grinding Dissent is a track from RAMMING SPEED’s Kurt Ballou-tracked Prosthetic debut, Doomed To Destroy, Destined To Die, due out June 25 on CD, LP, cassette and digital download.

The band commented on the track as follows:

Grinding Dissent is largely about America’s facade of righteousness and freedom. A government that is ‘for the people’ may or may not have originally been the goal, but in this day and age, it’s obvious that protest and free speech aren’t welcome. Our police departments have military-grade weapons turned on civilians to keep us quiet while politicians smile and shake hands behind closed doors. Musically. the song starts off with punishing D-beat and ends with Ferrari-sized, Piña Colada-chugging twin guitar riffage! Put this shit on 11, crack a beer and scream at the sun.”

Head to PROSTHETIC’s web store now to check out pre-order packages for Doomed To Destroy, Destined To Die, which include a mail-order exclusive clear haze/neon green vinyl variant along with an exclusive t-shirt or long-sleeved shirt featuring the album’s artwork, featured above. LOUNA: Hot Russian Singer! – Tons of New Album Promo Crap

Russian rockers LOUNA are pleased to share a new, exclusive video interview with Revolver Magazine. In the interview, the band discusses the new album Behind a Mask, rewriting their songs in English, misconceptions about LOUNA based on stereotypes, and more. You can watch the video now at Revolvermag.com.

LOUNA is poised to take over the American hard-rock scene with their new album, Behind A Mask, in-stores and available online April 30, 2013 via Red Decade Records and MEG/RED. Behind A Mask will open the eyes and ears of the American rock music scene by showcasing the pure blistering talent of LOUNA and the soaring vocals of the band’s lead singer Lousine “Lou” Gevorkian (in a world that has become immersed in autotune and over-production, Behind A Mask boasts true musical talent with only 10-15 seconds of vocal correction on the entire 45-minute record). Behind A Mask features 10 of the band’s best songs from their first two albums and have been painstakingly adapted into English by American producer and lyricist Travis Leake (the SLoT). The album was mixed by renowned producer/engineer Dan Korneff (Breaking Benjamin, The Pretty Reckless, Papa Roach, My Chemical Romance, Paramore) and mastering duties were handled by the legendary Ted Jensen of Sterling Sound, New York.
