AMARANTHE Returning To Studio After Tour

AMARANTHE – the modern metal sextet from Gothenburg, Sweden – announced that they will be returning to North America in support of their new album.  The band will be providing direct support for Within Temptation. The tour begins 9/25 in San Francsico, CA and runs through 10/11 in Worcester, MA.

Guitarist Olof Morck commented on the North American tour:

“We could not be more pleased to announce that we will be supporting Within Temptation on their North American tour this fall! I have loved Within Temptation’s music for almost ten years, so it will be an honor to support them. But most of all, we can’t wait to see our amazing American fans again, and make a bunch of new ones!”

The band has confirmed an autumn 2014 release date for their new studio album via Spinefarm Records; as yet untitled, this latest outing will be the follow-up to Amaranthe (2011, now gold in Sweden) and The Nexus (2013). These two releases, which defined the band’s approach through their signature blend of musical styles and voices, caused an international stir right from the start; not only did The Nexus top the rock chart in Sweden, but it went straight to # 1 on the US iTunes Metal Chart as well, whist the videos (from both albums) have continued to clock up millions of views.

The success of these records saw AMARANTHE  playing to audiences all over the world, and now – following shows across Europe, including an appearance at the Bandit Awards in Stockholm where one of the band’s three singers, Elize Ryd, received the ‘Rock n’ Role Model’ Award – the six will head back into the studio.

AMARANTHE are currently on tour in Europe.  A complete list of dates and links to purchase tickets can be found HERE.

IN SOLITUDE Premiere New Single

Head over to the VICE’s music destination, Noisey, to listen to a brand new track from Swedish classic heavy metal band, In Solitude. Click HERE to stream “A Buried Sun.” The band’s new album Sister is dropping in North America on 10/01 and will be available to fans digitally, on CD, and 180 gram black vinyl. Fans can check out the first single and title track “Sister” at MetalBlade.com/InSolitude.

Fans can also pick up the upcoming issue of Decibel Magazine, November issue #109-out October 3, which features In Solitude on the cover which was shot by internationally-renowned metal and rock photographer Ester Segarra in Sweden. If you aren’t already a subscriber you can check your local bookstore or order from Decibel directly at the following location.

“Sister” was recorded at Studio Cobra in Stockholm, Sweden during March 2013. The album was produced and mixed by Martin “Konie” Ehrencrona and stands as a logical next step above and beyond its predecessor, “The World. The Flesh. The Devil.” In Solitude’s strength resides in their ability to craft dark and oppressive atmospheres within the auditory realm of classic heavy metal. “Sister” compounds this trademark sound further, beginning with the acoustic intro, “He Comes,” and saturates the record in an aura of uniqueness; see: “Lavender” and the title track.

The album concludes with an 8-minute, driving, near trance-like opus that features guest guitarist Pelle Forsberg (Watain). Additionally, Jarboe of Swans fame can be heard on “Horses in the Ground.” Moods range from Mercyful Fate-esque guitar flavors, shadows of Black Sabbath, the heavy dissonance of Swans, to straightforward, earworm riffs. In any case, one thing can be said for certain: their delivery is as genuine as it is impressive.

North American fans will have an opportunity to see In Solitude live this Fall. The band will be supporting Watain on their “Wild Hunt” tour beginning on October 8 in New York City. The tour also features support from Tribulation. Dates can be found below, as well as on facebook.com/insolitudeofficial.

RAM Present Brand New Video Clip

Swedish heavy metal act RAM recently shot a video for the song I Am The End from their latest release, Death. Metal Blade Records partnered with Revolver Magazine to premiere the video in North America. Click HERE to watch the new video now at revolvermag.com.

10th anniversary show in Gothenburg announced!

I Am The End was directed by Martin Högdal, edited by Leonard Palmestål and written by Oscar Carlquist – the same team that worked on the Flame Of The Tyrants video. The song was written by Harry Granroth and Oscar Carlquist.

Oscar Carlquist comments on the video:

“The I Am The End video shows a completely different side of the cinematic vision of RAM than what we created in the Flame Of The Tyrants video. This video displays a lot of esoteric aspects, and has many layers of symbolism that will not be seen at once. We thank everybody involved for their outstanding dedication to making flesh out of our disturbed visions.”

Fans can order Death and watch the video for Flames Of The Tyrants at metalblade.com/ram

In other news Daniel Johansson – guitarist and one of the founding members – has decided to leave the band. The departure was amicable and a replacement for Daniel has already been found. RAM are very happy and proud to welcome former RAM session guitarist Martin Jonsson as a fulltime member.

2013 marks the 10 year anniversary since RAM released their first release: the Sudden Impact EP. This will be celebrated on Friday, September 13. A concert has been booked in Gothenburg at the venue Sticky Fingers (Top Floor). The show will also feature special guests PORTRAIT and TRIAL. RAM’s performance will be filmed.

The Sudden Impact EP will be rereleased on vinyl only and in a strictly limited edition of 500 copies through Gothenburg based label Lake Of Fire productions. The EP will be released at the 10th anniversary concert.

RAM live shows:
19/07/13 FI – Lieto – Hammer Open Air
13/09/13 SE – Gothenburg – 10th Anniversary Show
19/10/13 NL – Amstelveen – Heavy Metal Maniacs Festival

“It’s an ‘imagine Ozzy and George Lynch joined Exodus’ pastiche” – Decibel Magazine

“Despite their Swedish origin, RAM bubbles over with the kind of British riffing and toe-tapping gallop pacing that so is so inseparable from the New Wave of British Heavy Metal” – BloodyGoodHorror.com

“as muscular and dynamic as it is epic and catchy” – Kerrang Magazine

“The album shines for its riffs. Songs like Comes from the Mouth Beyond and Release Me feature a flawless lead guitar; although it’s definitely classic heavy metal, it’s played in a much more aggressive manner, making it something akin to Saxon on a cocaine binge” – MetalSucks.net
