The three-track, 40-minute Widowmaker, the critically acclaimed new album by UK-based extreme metal act DRAGGED INTO SUNLIGHT, is now available for purchase. You can pick up a copy of the album on CD from the PROSTHETIC webstore HERE or digitally through Amazon MP3 or iTunes. Widowmaker is also available for pre-order on 12″ vinyl format in white, 180-gram black or clear vinyl with green splatter. The release of the LP, originally set for November 13, has been pushed back to December 18 due to manufacturing delays, but pre-orders are still expected to begin shipping in late November.

Hailed as a “crushing musical experience easily among the year’s best extreme-metal records” by Revolver, Widowmaker was named “album of the month” in the new issue of Terrorizer. The album also garnered 4/5 ratings from Alternative Press — who claimed “music doesn’t get much more devastating than this” — as well MSN Entertainment (who also awarded it “Album of the Week”). The members of DRAGGED INTO SUNLIGHT — whose identities remain hidden by masks, and who perform live with their backs to audiences in near total darkness — have claimed that the concept behind Widowmaker is “everything heavier and everything louder than everything else,” and that the album will “leave the listener thinking whether jumping out of a 4th floor window might actually be the best idea they’ve ever had.” It marks the group’s first release since 2010’s Hatred For Mankind, which Prosthetic reissued worldwide in 2011.

Bieler Bros. Records is thrilled to announce the signing of Bullet Saints and the release of their debut single Hellbound featuring Virus and Tripp from Dope and Twisted Method fame. Bullet Saints are a no holds barred, kick ass rock band from Nashville and their new single is already making waves at radio in the US. Bullet Saints are best described as Guns N’ Roses for NASCAR fans.

Label president Jason Bieler said, “In a day and age where there are no real rockstars anymore… these guys come along and are so unapologetically over the top that we knew this would be something special. Plus at the root of it, Hellbound is a great rock song.”

ULI JON ROTH to Embark On 40th Anniversary North American Tour

Legendary Guitarist ULI JON ROTH to Embark on 40th Anniversary North American Tour

German guitar legend ULI JON ROTH will be returning to North America for a special tour commemorating his 40th anniversary of joining the SCORPIONS.

ULI plans on celebrating this anniversary with a one of a kind show that features an entire set of SCORPIONS material as well as selections from his extensive solo catalog. Every show on the tour will be recorded for a live album documenting this amazing milestone in ULI‘s career.

The tour is currently scheduled to kick off January 25 in Los Angeles, CA and runs through March 3. More dates will be added in the coming days. Stay tuned to http://www.ulijonroth.com for the most up to date schedule.

ULI is looking forward to presenting this historical show to his North American fans:

“Celebrating my 40th anniversary of joining the band, we will play a full set of SCORPIONS songs alongside my more recent material. We will feature several songs from each of the albums that I played on, including some, which have not been played live before. I’m really looking forward to it. Hope to see you there!”

Because of his ground-breaking, highly innovative and distinctive trademark guitar work, ULI is widely regarded as being one of the greatest guitarists of all time.

As one of the main founding members of the SCORPIONSULI wrote much of the material for the bands – by now legendary – first five albums, which include the hugely successful live album Tokyo Tapes. These early SCORPIONS years with ULI, Klaus and Rudolf as the nucleus, were absolutely essential in shaping what is now considered the classic SCORPIONS sound.

ULI is regarded as a significant influence by many notable guitar players, including, but not limited to Slash, Eddie Van Halen, Joe Satriani, Kirk Hammett, Steve Vai and Yngwie Malmsteen. Having collaborated and shared the stage with the likes of The Smashing Pumpkins, Deep Purple, Brian May, Jack Bruce, UFO, and many others, ULI continues to inspire and pave the way for musicians and fans alike.

After his departure from the SCORPIONSULI JON ROTH embarked on a successful career as a solo artist, producing highly influential albums with his band Electric Sun, as well as performing classical concertos with orchestras.

ULI also invented his own instrument the legendary 6-octave Sky Guitar, which is currently on the market as a limited edition signature model.

In addition to his 40th Anniversary shows, ULI will also be offering his world renowned Sky Academy Seminars while he is on the road in North America. These introductory seminars are not just aimed at guitarists, but fans and even non-musicians may well find plenty to gain from Uli’s unique way of talking about some of the deeper mysteries of music. For some people Sky Academy has even been a life-changing experience, because ULI‘s teaching can open up completely new ways of experiencing music.

The aim of Sky Academy is to provide knowledge and inspiration to those who take guitar playing seriously and to help them reach a new plateau. The seminars are designed to open musicians’ eyes to new possibilities and to trigger an awakening of the student’s full potential and talent. Special emphasis is given to inspirational concepts rather than just technical means. Sky Academy is designed to teach particularly those things which are not normally touched upon in music teaching, but which provide a true gateway to mastery.

Tickets for the introductory seminars are available through the individual venues and can also be purchased at http://www.sky-academy-registration.com/.

NIGHTFALL album release date, cover art & video

Greek symphonic metallers NIGHTFALL cover artwork for new album ‘Cassiopeia’

Greek symphonic metallers NIGHTFALL launched a landing page featuring the artwork and a new song off their upcoming new album Cassiopeia! Please surf over to http://www.metalblade.com/nightfall/to check out the pre-order possibilities and the lyric video for Oberon & Titania.

Singer Efthimis Karadimas regarding the concept of Cassiopeia“Cassiopeia has a specific thesis and though its name is linked to both the constellation and the mythical character of Andromeda´s mother, it refers to arrogance as leading characteristic of the human race; the outcome of this and the overweening state of affairs are so popular these harsh days everywhere. The entire world seems to be shifting from its previous position to a new one and all and each one of us that used to feel like masters of our destiny are now starting to wonder about when, where and how this transition will end. It may be a punishment like Cassiopeia and Andromeda who claimed themselves more beautiful even to nereids suffered, or it may be just another change. Time will certainly tell.”

And about Oberon & Titania“The song is based on Shakespeare’s A Midsummer’s Night Dream couple; He is the king of fairies and She is the fairy queen. Despite their apparent close relationship, they end up forcefully using their powers and skills against each other; like maniacs blinded by light of passion and haughtiness they drag themselves to the lowest dungeons of nature. It is the ceaseless passion between two beings; passion that unites before it destroys anything around it once unleashed. It is true we are nothing when it comes to sustaining our gratefulness in front of desire. We are born broken in a dilute world poets’ admiration cannot disguise. And none can break the broken.”

Cassiopeia will be released January 18, 2013 via Metal Blade Records in Europe.

The recordings for Cassiopeia took place in four different places, something NIGHTFALL is quite familiar with. Vocals and keys were recorded in Greece (Soundflakes studios & Cyberia) while the drums got hammered down in Germany in the Soundlodge studios. Guitars and bass were recorded in the U.S. in Nashville, Tennessee in the Boomcave studios.

More than on the previous album Astron Black & The Thirty Tyrants, in Cassiopeia the spirit of old school Heavy Metal larks in almost every riff, with Mercyful Fate´s and King Diamond´s guitar style having its top notch, always the NIGHTFALL way.

Efthimis Karadimas – vocals
Evan Hensley – guitars
Constantine – guitars
Stathis Ridis – bass
Stathis Kassios – keys
Jörg Uken – drums

Uncle Acid & the Deadbeats album in stores and online now

Uncle Acid & the Deadbeats – Blood Lust. Album available now in stores and online

(Los Angeles, CA) Metal Blade/Rise Above released the re-issue of Uncle Acid & the Deadbeats debut, Blood Lust, yesterday in North America. The album rocked an unsuspecting underground metal community in Europe for the past two years and the psychedelic sounds are beginning to ooze into North America. To help North Americans catch with an album that’s been fermenting for some time across the Atlantic, Metal Blade teamed up with popular music blog BrooklynVegan.com for an exclusive full album stream of Blood Lust, from November 19 through November 26. Listen to the album now HERE and order your copy, as well as watch the trippy, hallucinogenic video for I’ll Cut You Down now at metalblade.com/uncleacid.

About Uncle Acid & the Deadbeats:
Who are this mysterious bunch known as Uncle Acid & the Deadbeats? We are not able to shed much light on the identity of this drug-crazed coven of freaks but are addicted to their heavy, melodic, garage horror-rock sounds.

Until now, their releases have only been available via mail order and have sold-out instantly, commanding extremely high prices on eBay, such is the demand.

Their music brings back the dark spirit of true rock and roll conjured up by this anonymous cult of horror worshipping fiends. Uncle Acid has come to kill!

Blood Lust is a re-issue Uncle Acid & the Deadbeats’ highly sought 2011 self-released album. A new album is currently in progress and is scheduled to be released sometime in 2013.

New SHAI HULUD album in 2013

SHAI HULUD will be releasing their new album, Reach Beyond the Sun, on February 19, 2013. New music and pre-orders will be available on December 10, but for now, fans can sample a portion of a new track in a teaser video on the band’s official youtube channel – youtube.com/shaihuludtv.

About Reach Beyond the Sun:
Reach Beyond the Sun, the fourth entry in Shai Hulud’s storied catalog, will see its release in February of 2013. The album was produced by current New Found Glory guitarist, Chad Gilbert, and notably, vocalist on Hulud’s debut LP Hearts Once Nourished With Hope And Compassion. In addition to producing, Gilbert also returned to sing on the album – his first offering of recorded vocals with the band in over a decade. Not unlike Shai Hulud’s previous releases, Reach Beyond the Sun was born of several years of toiling before ever entering a studio. The band’s previous effort, Misanthropy Pure, a polished, metallic and frenzied piece of masterwork, is contrasted by the much more visceral, instinctively compositional songs found on Reach Beyond the Sun, an embracement of the raw Hardcore/Punk elements that sit at the cornerstone of the band’s influences. Longtime bass player Mad Matt Fletcher asserts,

“Anyone who really knows the band will agree this album is our definitive sound, encompassing all of our different influences and styles.” He conclusively reiterates, “Yep, this sounds like Shai Hulud.”

“Shai Hulud comes from the isolated corner of hardcore where a screaming voice has meaning and purpose. (Their) lyrics empower and inspire. A gift of perspective, if not of true insight.” – NickPierce/Shai Hulud fan.

Lyrically, Shai Hulud continues to evoke deeper thought, and a range of true human emotions practically unique to the band as the modern underground often shies away from depth for fear of the vulnerability of inner exposure. Shai Hulud affirms “True strength is inviolate” in the song “Monumental Graves,” and introspectively queries “Is ours, indeed, a sunless path to waiting graves we prepare for ourselves?” and “Will we bring our hearts back to life?” in the songs “I, Saturnine” and “A Human Failing,” respectively, boldly turning their insides out. Regarding “A Human Failing,” a song about a generation willing to turn numb in lieu of a life of pain and feeling, guitar player Matt Fox comments “It’s become ‘cool’ to be cold. No pun intended.” In the interest of challenging misinterpreted notions of pessimism, the song “Think The Adder Benign” professes “No, I do not believe roses only bloom just to conceal the thorns. I merely accept the thorn pricked finger bleeds” while “To Suffer Fools” maintains the band’s active frustration and misanthropy, a trait by which Shai Hulud are notorious: “Pour the salts of acumen straight into the eyes to recondition the mind.”

In recording Reach Beyond the SunShai Hulud welcomed the vocal talents of accomplished friends from throughout the hardcore community. Fans will note guest vocals from: Jay Pepito (Reign Supreme, Blacklisted) on “A Human Failing, John Vigil (The Ghost Inside) on “If A Mountain be My Obstacle,” Louis Hernandez (Alpha & Omega) on “Man Into Demon,” all officially recorded former Hulud vocalists Matt Mazalli, Damien Moyal, and Geert van der Velde on “Medicine to the Dead,” as well as additional vocals throughout the album from the likes of Justin Krauss (With Life In Mind), Martin Stewart (Donnybrook, Terror), David Wood (Down To Nothing, Terror), among others.

Since the release of Misanthropy Pure in 2008, Shai Hulud has toured Europe, Southeast Asia, Canada, the US, and Mexico. Most recently, the band appeared at the Revelation Records 25th Anniversary shows, both in LA and New York. Plans are already beginning to unfold for 2013, beginning with Shai Hulud’s trek to Australia for the first time as part of Soundwave 2013, which also features Metallica, Blink 182, The Offspring, Slayer, and many more. More plans are beginning to unfold in support of Reach Beyond the Sun, which will invariably see Hulud performing in front of more fans, new and old, than ever before.

Within Reach Beyond The Sun is found the glimmer of hope emerging as a keen perception of reality on a gridlocked battleground of grim pessimism versus unthinking optimism – a conflicting array of swirling thoughts and depth of emotion, honestly illustrating and defining the beauty and tragedy of the human experience. To the backdrop of progressive, metallic Hardcore/Punk, Shai Hulud is thinking and expressing in perpetual forward motion.

Onward and upward. Always. Forever.

Reach Beyond the Sun will be released on February 19 in North America, and February 15/18 in Europe.
