JUNIUS Announce Tour Dates, Second LP Pressing

JUNIUS, who have been described by Rolling Stone as “a perfect hybrid of Neurosis and The Smiths,” will join forces with post-rockers Caspian on a U.S. tour in February. Full dates can be found below.

The band, having just finished a highly successful European tour supporting Katatonia and Alcest, collectively commented:

“The past two months were definitely a highlight for us. Aside from the experience of exploring new places and making new friends in the 19 countries we visited, Katatonia and Alcest are two of the best bands we’ve ever toured with, both musically and personally. We owe them and everyone who came to the shows many thanks for making it such an amazing tour.”

JUNIUS will continue to support their PROSTHETIC debut, Reports From The Threshold of Death, which was described by Decibel as “the music that many Radiohead fans wished Thom Yorke wrote after The Bends.” A second pressing of the album’s LP edition is now available on orange marble and blue marble vinyl in limited quantities. Praised for their “epic song structures, textured arrangements and grand lyrical concepts” by AP magazine, the band has also performed in recent months alongside acts as varied as Enslaved, O’Brother and labelmates WOLVES LIKE US.

FiXT Partnership To Benefit Sandy Hook

Screen shot 2013-01-03 at 10.42.50 AM

In response to the tragic events that took place at the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut, EDM/Rock (Electronic Dance Music) Retailer/Label FiXT has partnered with Groupees.com and over 50 other various artists to help raise support for the victim’s families and community, giving 100% of donations to the official Sandy Hook School Support Fund.

Support comes in the form of the #ToNewtownWithLove Bundle that features an extensive collection of music donated by artists and record labels like CelldwellerBlue Stahli, Savant, Sluggo, Cyanotic, Hard Dance Nation, Bit Riot Records & more, representing over 7 different countries and genres ranging from Rock/Metal to EDM/Dubstep.

Donors can purchase the #ToNewtownWithLove Bundle through Groupees.com  – until January 17, 2013 – for a minimum $1 donation with added bonuses for larger donations.

As creators, we understand that art can provide joy, inspiration and meaning to people. However, as powerful of medium as the arts can be, they cannot undo the loss of life or the impact a tragedy like this has on the victims’ families, friends, community, and the rest of the world. Our goal for this promotion is to support, uplift, and memorialize the spirits of the victims and their families as well as shine a bright and enduring light on the community of Newtown. May the World not simply stop for a moment to take pity on a small town and its people, but rather may we all be reminded everyday by the work of these artists that change is needed to prevent tragedies like this from ever happening again anywhere and everywhere. – To Newtown With Love – Mission Statement

All content has been donated & 100% of donations will be donated to the Sandy Hook School Support Fund, a charitable fund established jointly by United Way of Western Connecticut and Newtown Savings Bank to support the Newtown community following the Sandy Hook School tragedy.

UNEARTH Updated Tour Dates

UNEARTH will begin 2013 in a big way on tour alongside WHITECHAPEL and EMMURE. The “Brothers of Brutality Tour” will begin on January 8 in Knoxville, TN and wraps up February 11 in New York, NY. Unfortunately, UNEARTH bassist John “Slo” Maggard will not be joining the band on the tour.

Vocalist Trevor Phipps has posted the following update:

“John “Slo” Maggard will unfortunately be sitting out the Brothers of Brutality Tour this coming January/February. His absence is simply to take care of personal matters at home and is only temporary. Slo will remain a member of Unearth moving forward and is actively involved in the writing process for our next album, which we plan to record and release some time in 2013. Luckily, our long time friend Matt DeVries (Fear Factory, ex-Chimaira) will be taking over bass duties for the tour.”

“I couldn’t be more excited to be filling in on bass for my long time friends in Unearth on the upcoming Brothers Of Brutality Tour,” DeVries said about teaming up for the tour. “They are like family to me and I’m extremely happy to step up to the plate for my good buddy Slo!”
