EPHEL DUATH Finishing New Album

Next July, experimental metallers EPHEL DUATH will return to Mana Recording Studios in St. Petersburg, Florida. Together with producer Erik Rutan (Cannibal Corpse, Goathwhore, Hate Eternal) the band will complete the recording sessions for their new album started last February, and do the final mix. Alan Douches will master the songs at his West West Side Studios, NY.

EPHEL DUATH’s new album will once again feature the incredible Marco Minnemann (The Aristocrats, Kreator, Necorphagist) on drums, joined this time by his band mate Bryan Beller (The Aristocrats, Dethklok, Joe Satriani) on bass.

The recording line-up is as follow:

Davide Tiso – guitars
Karyn Crisis – vocals
Marco Minnemann – drums
Bryan Beller – bass

Featuring 8 new songs and reaching over 55 minutes of total length, EPHEL DUATH’s new album is a multilayered hybrid of death metal, jazz and post rock, blended together with a strong will to experiment and with no boundaries in sight.

“I wanted this album to be a strong statement,” comments Davide Tiso.

“And I believe we achieved that. Every time I put together a release for Ephel Duath, I deal with it as if it was our last. Would I be OK to let this album be the band’s last shout? Yes, I definitely would. I compose music to primarily please myself; doing it puts my mind in a very specific place, a spot where I feel fitting-in much, much better than in everyday life. Playing my guitar for Ephel Duath I get the peace and the release I need to keep myself going. I’m an avid metal listener but when I play for Ephel Duath I don’t feel the need to bring my music to fit any parameters, at the same time I don’t put any efforts whatsoever to sound different: I just let go and navigate.”

“Songs are coming out effortlessly and quicker the older I get, and I believe that with this new album I reached the highest level of intensity of my entire musical career,” continues Davide.

“Lyrically the new songs dig deep in higher self subject matters, combining brutally visual imagery with a painfully honest soul searching quest.”

Some of the new songs titles are: Tracing the Path of Blood, Feathers Under My Skin, When Mind Escapes Flesh.

EPHEL DUATH’s new album will come out in the fall of 2013 on Agonia Records, it will be available in digital, CD and vinyl version.

HUNTRESS Sophomore Album Details Released

HUNTRESS is back with the follow up to their buzz worthy debut album Spell Eater, which was released in 2012. The album, entitled Starbound Beast will be released on June 28 in Europe and on July 2 in North America via Napalm Records. The band recorded the album at Hobby Shop Studios in Los Angeles, CA, working with famed producer Zeuss (Shadows Fall, Hatebreed, Agnostic Front). The artwork for Starbound Beast was created once again by Vance Kelly (Slayer, Ghost B.C., Mastodon).

HUNTRESS recently unveiled the debut track, I Want to Fuck You to Death, co-written for singer Jill Janus by legendary Motorhead frontman Lemmy Kilmister.

Front woman Jill Janus spoke about the collaboration:

“I met Lemmy through my former band Chelsea Girls. We’d play hard rock and metal covers featuring guest celebrities. Lemmy was already friends with the girls, so he played Ace of Spades with us and it blew my mind. We stayed in touch and would meet up at The Rainbow for drinks. So I asked him a few months back over Jack & Cokes if he’d write lyrics for a Huntress song and he said ‘Sure’. A few weeks later, I met him at the studio during Motorhead recording sessions. Lemmy handed me two pieces of notebook paper with the lyrics for I Want to Fuck You to Death. I am beyond honored. To me, this is a love song. It is the most romantic song I’ve ever heard.”

Motorhead frontman Lemmy Kilmister also spoke of the collaboration:

“The first time I heard Jill’s voice with Chelsea Girls, it was phenomenal. I wrote these lyrics from her point of view, the Huntress. I Want to Fuck You to Death was inspired by her, written for her. I’ve always had a soft spot for her. And a hard spot too…”

The song is available as an exclusive stream on the HUNTRESS Facebook Page. When visiting the Facebook page, clicking the “like” button will enable the audio.

In support of Starbound Beast the band will be touring across North America this summer as part of the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival.  The band will be featured on the Jagermeister Stage alongside Machine Head, Battlecross & Others. The tour kicks off June 29 in San Bernardino, CA and runs through August 4 in Dallas, TX. A complete list of dates can be found below. The band took part in the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival Press Conference and performed live, check out footage HERE.

HUNTRESS was spawned from the preternatural union of Jill Janus with underground metal bands Professor and Dark Black. They thrive on thundering drums, heavy riffs, spectral solos and catchy choruses that come from the band’s musical concoction of occult science and bong rips. HUNTRESS remains true to the roots of melodic heavy metal with a penchant for thrash, death and black metal.

One One One Press Quotes

One One One is every bit heavy as it is catchy… solidifying them as one of the best, and most interesting, metal bands out there” – Heavy Blog Is Heavy

“Coupling punishing metal textures with jazz time signatures and melodic exploitations with the subtlety of a commercial arc-welder… If Opeth is the thinking man’s black-metal King Crimson, the same can certainly be said for Shining — only the thinking is significantly darker” – Alibi

“With One One One, Shining step through the next door toward an actual industrial metal band: hard electronic rhythms, matched with almost shrill guitar tones and over laid with oddities… they become part of the vernacular of the new tribalism of industrial culture” Metal Injection

“9 extreme pop songs shellacked by juddering industrial and progressive metal, resulting in an exciting, immediate and highly addictive listen” – Scratch The Surface

FACT Release New Live Performance Music Video

FACT and Alternative Press Magazine are exclusively bringing you the new live performance music video for Tonight. The track is a great starter song for new fans, as Tonight is essentially the essence of the band condensed into just over a minute. The band expertly displays their effortless ability to mix blast beat-laden metalcore and pop-punk influenced harmonies—a skill that is evident throughout FACT’s new album Burundanga, which drops on its new release date of June 4, 2013 via Good Fight Music. Take a look at the new video for Tonight at this location.

FACT vocalist/guitarist Adam Graham states,

“The video was shot when we did a (sold out) headline show at a venue called The Pipeline in London in March this year after our UK tour with Your Demise. It was rad.”

Graham adds,

“The track Tonight was recorded in Florida with Elvis Baskette (as was the rest of the album), and it’s probably one of my favourite songs on the record. Lyrically, Tonight is a song about realising the moment you’re in and seizing the opportunities that that moment presents. Not wanting to sound pretentious or anything, but it’s about that moment of epiphany when you realise that you’re the one who controls your own destiny. It’s a positive message – it’s about takings control and taking responsibility. It fits into the lyrical theme of the album as a whole because a lot of Burundanga is about being able to take the positives out of loss and regret – everyone has dark stuff happen to them, but it’s all about being able to pick out the specks of light in those dark times, and Tonight is all about doing that right now.”

FACT has another video up for viewing, this time for the track Pink Rolex, exclusively available on their Facebook page. Check it out at this location.

Burundanga is a digital-only release and will be available from iTunes, Amazon and all your favorite digital music retailers.

With the band’s last two records charting in the Top 10 in their native Japan, the band has continued to enhance their burgeoning reputation with intensive touring both on home turf and across the United States and Europe – touring which has seen them play on the main stage at festivals such as Sonisphere (UK) and Summer Sonic (Japan) as well as forge a hardcore following with a series of club tours alongside established international touring acts Your Demise, Iwrestledabearonce, Senses Fail and Memphis May Fire amongst many others. At the present, FACT has sold roughly 260,000 albums worldwide.

Tracklist:

1. FOSS (Watch video)
