SHINING (Norway) Album in Stores Today, Streaming with Commentary

Norwegian black jazz rebels SHINING will release their acclaimed new album, One One One, in North America today via Prosthetic Records. Mixed and co-produced by Sean Beaven (NIN, Marilyn Manson, Slayer), the album has been hailed by PopMatters as a “work of brilliance by an exciting band at the top of its game” serves as the conclusion to the group’s so-called “Blackjazz” trilogy.

You can stream the entire album, including a track-by-track commentary by frontman Jørgen Munkeby, via the exclusive YouTube playlist HERE.

One One One CD is available digitally on iTunes, Amazon MP3 or Bandcamp. You can purchase the album on CD or LP bundled with two exclusively designed t-shirts on the Prosthetic webstore right NOW.

Due to manufacturing delays, the release of the One One One gatefold LP has been pushed back to June 25, but webshop customers will start receiving their vinyl orders during the first week of June.

One One One Press Quotes

One One One is every bit heavy as it is catchy… solidifying them as one of the best, and most interesting, metal bands out there” – Heavy Blog Is Heavy

“Coupling punishing metal textures with jazz time signatures and melodic exploitations with the subtlety of a commercial arc-welder… If Opeth is the thinking man’s black-metal King Crimson, the same can certainly be said for Shining — only the thinking is significantly darker” – Alibi

“With One One One, Shining step through the next door toward an actual industrial metal band: hard electronic rhythms, matched with almost shrill guitar tones and over laid with oddities… they become part of the vernacular of the new tribalism of industrial culture” Metal Injection

“9 extreme pop songs shellacked by juddering industrial and progressive metal, resulting in an exciting, immediate and highly addictive listen” – Scratch The Surface
