Female-Fronted Technical Death Metallers YOUR CHANCE TO DIE Release New Album

Adrenaline PR

South Carolina female-fronted technical death metal band YOUR CHANCE TO DIE is thrilled to announce the release of their sophomore full-length album, The American Dream via Red Cord Records. The record is available on iTunes. The American Dream

In addition, the band released a new music video for the track Oscuridad. Shred-worthy guitar solos, pounding blast beats and shattering growls make this track a must-listen. On a larger scale, the new album The American Dream captures the listener with its heavy yet darkly ambient tracks, bringing a new dimension to the band’s already polished sound.

Now, we know what you’re thinking. Female-fronted technical death metal? Really? Can that possibly work and still be legitimate death metal? Yes, really. Take one listen/watch of their new music video for the single Oscuridad and it will become increasingly apparent that this band is all skill and no frill, with a female vocalist that gives many of today’s male death metal vocalists a marathon-worthy run for their money.

YOUR CHANCE TO DIE has been featured on several radio stations, in national magazines and on countless music websites. See what press has had to say about YOUR CHANCE TO DIE and their sound:

“…this is maximum face-melting-inducing death metal, that carries strong melodic influences enhanced by some great lead guitar work… still can’t believe it’s a woman on vocals! Dudes, just for that give it a listen, and mind your jaw don’t drop to hard against the floor. Death metal aside, any real lover music, and a love for musicianship would concur that there is mad skill on this album” The Metal Resource

“Some very fun blasts, off-time breaks and fills, and gallops make the record very fun to listen to. Missi’s growl evokes pain and doom, in a most effective manner. There are hauntingly beautiful melodies, because the guitarists clearly know what they’re doing” – The New Review

“[Missi] brings on the rage just as well, if not better, than some male front men. The sound of the band is built on a sturdy groundwork of screeching guitars and the double pedal bass drum styling’s of Daniel Todd. The nine-track album, energetic from start to finish, is filled with whaling guitar solos and heavy breakdowns that will snap your neck”  – Lexington Music Press Magazine

“What you have here is a band…a band that makes it work. The vocals are straight. When listening, you forget the whole female aspect and just listen to the music for what it is. And what it is, is a brutal assault of melodic death metal”  – Buried Sound

In 2011 YOUR CHANCE TO DIE released their first official album with Red Cord Records entitled Suscitacio Somnus, recorded and produced by Jamie King (Between the Buried and MeThe Human AbstractFor Today). The full length album received very strong reviews and topped iTunes and FYE lists as the “best-selling metal album” in its first week.

YOUR CHANCE TO DIE completed three national tours, as well as a successful tour in Central America and two tours in Mexico. In support of the new album, 2013 will bring another national tour, a Central/South America tour, and a European tour. YOUR CHANCE TO DIE has had the pleasure of sharing the stage with Still RemainsiwrestledabearonceFor TodayNileEmmure, and more.

More items and unique opportunities will be added as well.

In more HUNTRESS related Mayhem news, vocalist Jill Janus will host the first ever Shred-Meister guitar competition.  Festival attendees can go to the Jägermeister tents on site and audition for a chance to shred for 10 seconds on the main stage. Each day, one of the 10 finalists will win a custom Jägermeister guitar from Schecter and the overall winner at the end of the tour will win a custom Jägermeister full stack and head courtesy of Peavey Electronics.

Starbound Beast will be released on June 28 in Europe and on July 2nd in North America via Napalm Records.  The band recorded the album at Hobby Shop Studios in Los Angeles, CA, working with famed producer Zeuss (Shadows Fall, Hatebreed, Agnostic Front).  The artwork for Starbound Beast was created once again by Vance Kelly (Slayer, Ghost B.C., Mastodon).

HUNTRESS was spawned from the preternatural union of Jill Janus with underground metal bands Professor and Dark Black. They thrive on thundering drums, heavy riffs, spectral solos and catchy choruses that come from the band’s musical concoction of occult science and bong rips. HUNTRESS remains true to the roots of melodic heavy metal with a penchant for thrash, death and black metal.

DYING FETUS Recruit ABIOTIC, RIVERS OF NIHIL To Fall Tour

Dying Fetus announced their headlining tour for this Fall with Exhumed, Devourment, Waking the Cadaver (10/4-10/19), as well as up-and-coming Metal Blade Records artists Abiotic, and Rivers of Nihil (10/26-11/2).

Surfacing from the heart of South Florida, Miami’s ABIOTIC transcends high above the rest with a most preternatural sound. By interweaving well-cultivated musical dexterity and pronounced lyrical finesse, ABIOTIC epitomizes an unwonted entity of unmatched musicianship. In a short amount of time since the quintet’s inception in 2010, this ghoulish coterie has made a paramount impact in the death metal scene and support from the masses continues to grow. The five-piece group consists of vocalist Ray Jimenez, bassist Alex Vazquez, drummer Andres Hurtado and guitarists Matt Mendez and Johnathan Matos. The band’s Metal Blade debut, Symbiosis, is available everywhere now and their Dan Drescher-directed music video, Facades, is streaming at metalblade.com/abiotic.

Reading, Pennsylvania’s death metal quintet, Rivers of Nihil, recently entered Mana Recording Studios in St. Petersburg with Erik Rutan to record their first full-length album and Metal Blade Records debut, which is due out before the end of 2013. Tracking has been completed and finishing touches are being put on the album and the artwork. Music and information will be released in the coming months. Until then, fans can sample what’s to come in a demo for Rain Eater on soundcloud HERE.

Rivers of Nihil guitarist Brody Uttley comments on the tour:

“We’re incredibly excited to be part of this tour. Dying Fetus played a huge role in shaping the early sound of Rivers of Nihil and they continue to influence us to this day, and we grew up listening to Exhumed and Devourment and we’re honored to be touring with them. We’re also excited to be touring with some of our younger peers and Metal Blade brothers in Abiotic. We’ll be playing all new material from our new album, which will be coming out later this year.”
