THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER Release Performance Demo Video

THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER are currently touring as part of the Van’s Warped Tour 2013. At the Ventura, CA stop of the tour, Brian Eschbach, Ryan Knight, Max Lavelle, and Alan Cassidy, recorded their parts for Into the Everblack from the band’s new album, Everblack. The performance is streaming now at metalblade.com/bdm. Videos for each individual performance are posted at youtube.com/blackdahliamurdertv.

Audio Hammer producer Mark Lewis comments specifically on Knight’s leads on Everblack:

“Ryan Knight’s leads on Everblack are nothing short of phenomenal. I grew up listening to the best in the era of shred, and I can honestly say these solos rank up there with the best, and beyond. They are not just technical solos in the athletic, ‘look how fast I can play’ sense, there is truly amazing harmonic content going in these leads. Any educated player will realize that the chord changes he is playing over are far more complex than anything you typically find in metal. Mix all that with absolutely world class tone and vibrato, and you really have an amazing piece of work. It does not get better than this.”

Watch THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER’s new music video for Goat of Departure HERE. The video was directed by Ben Mayer and filmed in the band’s hometown of Detroit, MI last month. In typical TBDM fashion, it is over-the-top and even features the return of a classic TBDM character, and a real, live goat.

HUNTRESS New Album Available Now

HUNTRESS generated a massive amount of buzz since the release of their debut album Spell Eater in 2012. The follow up to last year’s kill, Starbound Beast, is available now via Napalm Records. Purchase on iTunes and Amazon.

The band recently completed work on a video for their song Zenith.  Watch the video teaser HERE. The clip was directed by Phil Mucci, whose video for HIGH ON FIRE’s Fertile Green was named best video of 2012 by Revolver.

In support of the release of Starbound Beast HUNTRESS are taking part in the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival. In addition to performing everyday, vocalist Jill Janus is hosting the first ever Shred-Meister guitar competition. Festival attendees can go to the Jägermeister tents on site and audition for a chance to shred for 10 seconds on the main stage. Each day, one of the 10 finalists will win a custom Jägermeister guitar from Schecter and the overall winner at the end of the tour will win a custom Jägermeister full stack and head courtesy of Peavey Electronics.

Starbound Beast was recorded at Hobby Shop Studios in Los Angeles with famed producer Zeuss (Shadows Fall, Hatebreed, Agnostic Front). Artwork was created once again by Vance Kelly (Slayer, Ghost B.C., Mastodon).

HUNTRESS spawned from the preternatural union of Jill Janus with underground metal bands Professor and Dark Black. They thrive on thundering drums, heavy riffs, spectral solos and catchy choruses that come from the band’s musical concoction of occult science and bong rips. HUNTRESS remains true to the roots of melodic heavy metal with a penchant for thrash, death and black metal.

Phoenix, Arizona‘s GOG will release Ironworks on September 3 in North America (August 30, rest of world) on CD and digitally via Season of Mist. The noise/experimental project premiered a music video from their forthcoming record, Ironworks. The video track, titled 1870-1906 is now streaming via Cvlt Nation.

The album, an ode to the death of the American dream, was recorded in a late 19th century/20th century blacksmith shop. Pre-order Ironworks through the Season of Mist E-Shop. Ironworks was originally only released as an LP.

Tracklisting:

1. 1870-1906

2. Tasks Which Destroy Body And Soul

3. God Says To Love You In Chains

4. A Promised Eternity Fulfilled With Cancer

5. Into Her, She Carved The Word Empty

6. I Draw My Strength From You

Masterminded by Michael Bjella, GOG toiled in the underground noise community for a decade, releasing records that have been widely respected and regarded as essential in experimental/noise/soundscape circles.

On the band, Michael Bjella states:

“I started GOG to explore the darker sides of thought and life. I want to create things without restriction and form that can transport people and possibly make them confront their own fears. Things that are truly dark but have contrast. To borrow a line from one of my favorite artists, in case there might be harmony, then it is the harmony of accident, of chaos. I’m not trying to make harmony.”

For more info visit: Season of Mist website, and the official GOG Facebook page

“At its darkest, Gog is an imposing glorification of nothing. At its brightest, Gog is our saviour. A swirling vortex of white and black, virtue and nihil, that finds equilibrium in entrancing drone” – LURKERS PATH

ABYSMAL DAWN Premiere New Video

ABYSMAL DAWN unveiled their brand new video for the track In Service of Time. The video can be viewed HERE.

The track is taken from their 2011 album, Leveling the Plane of Existence, and is an awesome slab of technical death metal with the video set against a backdrop of a bleak and oppressed cityscape.

On the creation of the dark and sinister new video, vocalist Charles Elliott comments:

“Well, it’s finally done! After a little over a year in the making, we’re proud to present the music video for In Service of Time. It was directed and edited by Robert Mestas, who won a contest a while back for making a video clip for our song My Own Savior. He did such a great job with that track, that we decided to give him a shot at making a full-fledged epic video for us. Being a self-financed production though, I think at some point we all realized we’d bitten off a bit more than we could chew.  Several favors we’re called in and many plans would fall apart, causing the video to be delayed for a very long time. We have to say though, the end result did turn out pretty amazing. It’s a very dark dystopian piece, which you’d expect from us, with a nod to the classic silent German film Metropolis. We would like to thank everyone that worked hard on this to make it come out as cool as it did. Enjoy!”

Leveling the Plane of Existence, described by Blabbermouth as “an ass-kicking death metal beast” is out now via Relapse Records. Purchase the album, along with other ABYSMAL DAWN merchandise, from the Relapse Records webstore.
