CANCER BATS/BAT SABBATH Announce Cross Canada Fall Tour

After a number of sold-out appearances and plenty of fan and critical support, two time JUNO-award nominees Cancer Bats just announced that they will once again be taking their alter ego Bat Sabbath on the road. As a special treat for fans, this time around, the band will perform two full sets every night, one as Cancer Bats and one as Bat Sabbath. Coined the Double Header Bat Madness Tour, the tour includes five dates in the U.S and thirteen dates across Canada.

Having toured extensively across the globe, playing over 270 shows in support of their critically acclaimed third album Dead Set on Living, the Double Header Bat Madness Tour is the perfect way to end off the year.

“We are all way too stoked for this Canadian run!” says lead vocalist Liam Cormier.

“All of the touring we’ve done on this record has been amazing and we can’t think of a better way to finish it all off then with one last Canadian banger! AND to make it the ultimate rager, we’re adding a full Bat Sabbath set to keep the party going all night. I can’t think of a better way to end off a record and to get stoked on writing a new album!”

Tickets for the tour will go on sale on Thursday, July 11. For more information visit http://www.cancerbats.com

VISTA CHINO Announce North American Tour Dates

VISTA CHINO, the band formed by John Garcia and Brant Bjork (formerly of Kyuss) are gearing up for the release Peace. The album will be released September 3 in North America via Napalm Records. The artwork for the album was created by the renowned California art collective – The Date Farmers.

Following their much heralded debut North American performance as VISTA CHINO at the Orion Music and More Festival, the band confirmed a North American headline tour in support of Peace.  Support on the tour will come from the Portland, Oregon rock outfit known as Black Pussy. The tour kicks off September 6 in Calgary, Alberta and runs through September 28 in Columbus, Ohio.

Drummer Brant Bjork cannot wait to showcase the new music for the fans:

“VISTA CHINO is super excited to bring the fresh VC rock to the American fans. We’ll be rocking songs from our new Vista Chino record Peace along with some Kyuss classics and the legendary Mike Dean from COC will be bringing the electric bass… so, be there or be square.”

The band debuted the Dargona, Dragona on their Facebook Page.  When visiting the page, clicking the “like” button will enable the audio.

Rising from the desert sands that birthed Kyuss Lives, VISTA CHINO’s sound is instantly familiar. With the trademark soulful vocals of John Garcia, the songwriting and production of Brant Bjork (drums) and the fuzz-laden riffage of imported guitarist Bruno Fevery, VISTA CHINO’s debut is one of the year’s most anticipated heavy rock albums. A new band born of a storied past, right now it’s about these players playing these songs.

MERCENARY Reveal Second Track From Upcoming Release

MERCENARY unveiled another track from their new album, Through Our Darkest Days, due out in North America on July 30. Check out Generation Hate below.

Watch the Video

Says guitarist Jakob Mølbjerg,

“In contrast to the title track which we put out some weeks ago, the song Generation Hate is a heavy, fast and furious f*cker which we felt was perfect to show the range and diversity of the new album. Enjoy!”

Through Our Darkest Days scheduled for July 30 release in North America

Through Our Darkest Days, recorded with longtime collaborator Jacob Hansen (Volbeat, Heaven Shall Burn), commemorates the 15th anniversary of the release of Danish melodic death metalists’ debut album. Featuring a combination of the band’s latest material along with much of the traditional melodic and melancholic elements of previous MERCENARY albums, the album uses the journey through existential darkness and the ability to break through it as its primary theme.

The cover art, seen above, was designed by Mnemic guitarist Mircea Eftemie (Soilwork, Illdisposed) and is said to symbolize “a darkness that we (Mercenary) have gone through as a band, which we feel we have finally put behind us.”

You can pre-order the album directly from the PROSTHETIC web shop along with an exclusive t-shirt here: http://www.indiemerch.com/prostheticrecords/item/20121. Grab your copy now!
