Locrian – Return to Annihilation (Relapse)
Uh oh! Someone’s mixing it up in the doomy, black metal scene.
This one starts out with some really pretty electronics and friendly, Dark Crystal shit until things start to get creepy and uneasy down in my nethers.
It begins in a beautifully, creepy way to start off a refreshing album.
Track 2 has an almost 7 minute intro to a heavy, pretty, dark song that is otherwise not very long. It reminds me of that one song from Through Silver and Blood by Neurosis, but with a longer intro and less song and doesn’t really sound like Neurosis.
These guys really do love their extensive intros. Gotta give it up, they know how to write a song!
