Prosthetic Records to Release GOJIRA Re-Issues

By popular demand, Prosthetic Records will soon issue gatefold double-LP editions of the two albums that rocketed the French progressive tech-death quartet GOJIRA from the European underground to international stardom. From Mars To Sirius and The Way Of All Flesh – two of the most acclaimed metal releases of the past decade – will be released on vinyl on August 27. Pre-orders are available now.

Selected praise for From Mars To Sirius:
* Decibel Magazine Top 10 of 2006
* “Epic…a masterpiece…9/10.” — Blabbermouth
* “One of the year’s freshest metal inventions” — L.A. Times
* Revolver Magazine #4 release of 2006

Originally issued overseas in 2005, From Mars To Sirius – released by Prosthetic in 2006, and never before available on LP in North America – was the Western Hemisphere’s formal introduction to GOJIRA. One of MetalSucks‘ Top 10 “best metal albums of the 21st Century so far,” the album was supported by U.S. tours with the likes of Lamb of God, Children of Bodom, Machine Head, Behemoth and Amon Amarth. The gatefold 2-LP set will be available in three 180-gram variants: “Eco-Green” (600 copies), “Mars Red” (200 copies) and “Sea Blue” (200 copies), the latter two of which are mail-order exclusives.

Selected praise for The Way Of All Flesh:
* Decibel Magazine Top 15 of 2008
* Revolver Magazine #2 release of 2008
* “likely to be every bit as vital 10 years from now” – Kerrang!
* Metal Hammer Magazine #5 release of 2008

Engineered, mixed and mastered by Logan Mader (Five Finger Death Punch, DevilDriver, Fear Factory), follow-up The Way Of All Flesh (2008) cemented GOJIRA’s status as one of metal’s most important acts. The band’s first release to crack the Billboard Top 200, the album – which features a guest appearance by Lamb of God front man Randy Blythe – was supported by tours with the likes of In Flames and All That Remains, in addition to a month touring North American arenas with Metallica. The gatefold 2-LP set marks the first time in three years that the album will be available on vinyl, and it will be offered in two new variants: 180-gram clear (500 copies), and a mail-order exclusive, standard-weight blue/white split vinyl (500 copies).

Over its 15-year history, Los Angeles-based Prosthetic Records has proudly helped to establish the careers of alumni such as Lamb of God, All That Remains, Animals As Leaders, The Acacia Strain and Kylesa, in addition to current roster heavyweights such as Skeletonwitch, Scale The Summit and Holy Grail. The label’s two GOJIRA releases are among the best-selling titles in its catalog.

“The fan reaction to Deceiver of the Gods around the globe is both amazing and overwhelming. Our fans are strong and true and we are humbled by the support. We look forward to visiting everyone on the road.”

Deceiver of the Gods released in North America via Metal Blade Records on June 25, was recorded at Backstage Studios in Derbyshire, UK, produced, mixed and mastered by Andy Sneap (Killswitch Engage, Megadeth, Opeth) and is reaping critical accolades internationally.

Deceiver of the Gods goes from rampaging to brooding to anthemic over a well-conceived trajectory… This is an album that begs to be consumed in its entirety at every listen, just to get the full experience” – Decibel Magazine

“No one delivers big, punch-in-the-face motifs better than AMON AMARTH, and the Swedish melodic-death-metal titans have excelled themselves on their ninth studio album… Not only does Johan Hegg deliver his fiercest growls ever, but he also duets mesmerizingly with operatic ex-Candlemass frontman Messiah Marcolin on Hel”Revolver Magazine

“easily one of the strongest and most diverse records the Swedes have ever made, gloriously extravagant, explosive blend of brutish riffing and unapologetic Maiden worship” – Metal Hammer

Literally invading U.S. shores, AMON AMARTH’s main stage slot on the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Fest stuck awe into the hearts of media and fans alike when it opened last Saturday in San Bernardino, California. The band’s mammoth stage production, including a Viking Longboat and the amassing armies in the war between Odin and Loki, lit up the internet with excitement for the band’s set.

“the stunning stage production was what really made this AMON AMARTH show stand out from their own past shows, and indeed from all other bands that played this festival” – MetalAssault.com

In related news, AMON AMARTH is currently putting the finishing touches on the official video for colossal track Father Of The Wolf. The video will be unveiled in the coming weeks. Until then, check out the trailer now playing at the band’s microsite: http://deceiver.amonamarth.com
