NERO DI MARTE To Release Split With VOID OF SLEEP

Italian atmospheric unit NERO DI MARTE will be releasing a split 7″ EP with Void of Sleep after both bands’ gear and equipment were stolen before a recent show in Rome.

The band stated: 

“In less than 30 minutes, someone broke into our van and was able to take everything. It happened in broad daylight near a police station in Rome, despite there being a massive amount of police forces surveilling the area but, alas, no security cameras. Guitars, amps, pedal boards, drums, merchandise and personal belongings… a total of 25,000€ was stolen from both bands.” 

The EP will consist of a new track from each group, which will be recorded at Studio 73 in Ravenna, Italy. The bands have set up a fundraiser through Indiegogo containing packages including signed merchandise, Skype lessons and even the opportunity for your own private show HERE:

Bands raising funds to replace stolen gear and equipment

NERO DI MARTE released their self-titled debut last spring. The album, available HERE, received high ratings from the press, including a 4/5 star review from Revolver (which described the band as “a gifted and talented love child of Leviathan-era Mastodon and latter-day Death”). Having previously performed in Europe alongside acts including Godflesh, Carcass, Immolation, Cynic, Decapitated, Red Fang and Svart Crown, the band recently completed first-ever North American tour alongside Gorguts and Origin. 

 

CARCASS New Single Out Now

Disinterred British extreme metal legends, CARCASS released the track ‘Captive Bolt Pistol‘ from their highly anticipated sixth full-length album Surgical Steel. The single is available on colored vinyl. The digital version will follow soon.

Surgical Steel, the band’s first studio release since their 1996 LP Swansong, was produced by Colin Richardson (NAPALM DEATH, BOLT THROWER, GOREFEST, CANNIBAL CORPSE, SINISTER, RODRIGO Y GABRIELA) and mixed/mastered by Andy Sneap (MEGADETH, ACCEPT, EXODUS, TESTAMENT).

“We went back to working with Ian Tilton, who is an iconic English photographer famous for working with THE STONE ROSES,” stated frontman Jeff Walker regarding the cover artwork.

“He actually did the front cover for Necroticism… as well. We’ve deliberately tried to evoke the feeling of that album and Heartwork.”

Joining guitarist Bill Steer and bassist/vocalist Jeff Walker in the band’s current incarnation are new drummer Dan Wilding (ABORTED, TRIGGER THE BLOODSHED) and guitarist Ben Ash (PIG IRON, DESOLATION, LIQUEFIED SKELETON). Expect some guest vocals from original sticksman Ken Owen as well, when Surgical Steel is finally released this Fall.

NERO DI MARTE Streaming New Album

 

Italian experimental metal unit NERO DI MARTE unveiled a stream of their self-titled upcoming PROSTHETIC debut exclusively HERE. The album features six expansive tracks of the band’s evolved take on progressive, avantgarde and technically precise metal and is set to be released on March 19 in the U.S. (March 18 in the UK, March 22 in continental Europe).
