THE ORDER OF ISRAFEL Signs With Napalm Records

When Tom Sutton left the doom band Church of Misery, it was to make his long-established grand vision of an epic doom band come true. To accomplish this, he moved to Sweden and hooked his strings together with Patrik Andersson Winberg (ex-Doomdogs ), Hans Lilja as Lotus (which for a period had Brian Robertson, ex Thin Lizzy as guitarist) and Staffan Bjorck from the band Wildebeest. Together with his and the band’s Doom and Heavy Metal influences, folk music, twinguitars and feel of old horror movies to create dark divine music, they became THE ORDER OF ISRAFEL. The band has now signed a record deal with Spinning Goblin / Napalm Records, and commented the signing as follows:

THE ORDER OF ISRAFEL are thrilled to announce that we have signed to Napalm Records, and will be releasing our first album, ‘Wisdom’, in the Autumn, 2014. We’re extremely proud of the record, and know that Napalm will be the perfect home for it. We are also very excited to be sharing a label with the extremely legendary Candlemass, who have been one of the biggest influences on the sound of the band from the beginning. Cheers!”

CHURCH OF MISERY Announce North American Tour Dates

Church of Misery, Japan’s finest doom export, has announced that their upcoming headlining tour dates for this fall in the United States will now begin on November 1 in Chicago, IL. Issues beyond the band’s control had forced the band to reschedule the first half of the tour, which will now conclude on December 15 in Milwaukee, WI.

To preview the live experience awaiting fans on this tour, watch the video for “Brother Bishop” at metalblade.com/churchofmisery.

Tour dates can be seen below, as well as on facebook.com/churchofmiserydoom.

Thy Kingdom Scum” was written and recorded by Tatsu Mikami, Junji Narita, Ikume Kawabe, and Hideki Fukasawa and features the return of the band’s original vocalist, Hideki Fukasawa. The album has been praised as one of the best doom releases of 2013, with Decibel Magazine declaring it has “some of the wickedest doom grooves since Black Sabbath 40 years ago… it’s resounding proof that no one right now-not even the reunited Sabbath with a newly wound-up Ozzy-can come close to the gargantuan swing of the mighty Church of Misery.”

Terrorizer Magazine adds that “Thy Kingdom Scum” is a “very welcome return of Hideki Fukasawa on vocals (and synth too)… reaching Anselmo-like drawling lows.”

New CHURCH OF MISERY Album in June

Japan‘s CHURCH OF MISERY is preparing to release their fourth full-length album. Thy Kingdom Scum will be released in North America via Metal Blade Records/Rise Above Records on June 11. The first single from the album, as well as the brand new video for Brother Bishop, are both streaming now at metalblade.com/churchofmisery.

Thy Kingdom Scum was written and recorded by Tatus Mikami, Junji Narita, Ikume Kawabe, and Hideki Fukasawa. In 2012, after the departure vocalist Yoshiaki Negishi, Tatsu and Junji contacted the previous singer Hideki, and they decided on a reunion. Additionally, the band added guitarist Ikuma Kawabe (ex-DHIDALAH) in late May 2012.With this new line-up, they started writing and recording the new record.

After the release of Houses Of The Unholy in 2009, CHURCH OF MISERY continued to visit western countries, and embarked on several fantastic tours: Europe with EYEHATEGOD, Maryland Death Fest X, and a headlining US tour with The Gates of Slumber and Hail!Hornet. Plans are currently in motion for more touring in support of Thy Kingdom Scum. Updates will be posted to churchofmisery.net and metalblade.com/churchofmisery as they are made available.
