ARCHSPIRE Release New Studio Footage

Technical death metal force ARCHSPIRE released new studio footage of the members recording their forthcoming Season of Mist debut. The footage can be found here.

ARCHSPIRE (Tobi Morelli – guitar, Spencer Prewett – drums, Dean Lamb – guitar, Jaron Evil – bass & vocals, Oli Peters – vocals)

Recently, ARCHSPIRE was named as a regional opening act for this year’s upcoming Decibel Magazine Tour. On May 21, the band will play alongside CANNIBAL CORSPE, NAPALM DEATH, IMMOLATION, and newly signed label mates, BEYOND CREATION at the Vancouver Commodore.

ARCHSPIRE has taken the world-wide extreme metal scene by storm with their unique blend of blindingly fast, hyper aggressive technical death metal. The five piece are a national headliner in their home country of Canada, and have toured Europe supporting DECAPITATED, ABORTED, FLESHGOD APOCALYPSE, and more. The band has also supported HATE ETERNAL, NAPALM DEATH, PIG DESTROYER, ORIGIN, and many more throughout western Europe.

“If you are asking, ‘Is there something new to do in Death Metal?’ ARCHSPIRE is the answer” – technicaldeathmetal.com

“This is a truly eye-popping convulsion of tech-death, with schizophrenic rhythms, astounding technical riffing and drumwork, and tiny threads of reappearing melody that stitch the songs together into cohesive wholes. And I’m not sure I’ve ever heard a death-metal vocalist bark out the lyrics faster than ARCHSPIRE’s . . . . This is most definitely a band to keep your eyes on; you will hear more about them” – No Clean Singing

“ARCHSPIRE have released a gem. It’s definitely technical death, and it adroitly blends elements of various tech death bands together. The rhythm guitar work varies from choppy and percussive to fluid and melodic. The blasting and double bass work are absurdly fast, but remain fluent and rhythmic rather than wooden or jittery. The hard to soft musical transitions are as natural as I’ve ever heard in this genre” – InvisibleOranges.com

“The pick-me-up comes in the form of ARCHSPIRE, a gang of happy-looking Canadians who might have been widely unknown to most present before this performance, but surely no longer. With a technical proficiency bordering on OMFG levels, they still achieve what lacks in a lot of other bands like this: the feat of actually writing songs. What’s more, they noticeably enjoy what they do, so smiles are abundant even if face-peeling technical death metal about alien monoliths and planets being devoured is going on” – Terrorizer

RIVERS OF NIHIL Signed, Sealed, Deliver Demo Single

(Agoura Hills, California) – Metal Blade Records is pleased to announce the signing of RIVERS OF NIHIL. The modern progressive death metal quintet, who formed in 2009, was born from the ruins of their decaying hometown of Reading, Pennsylvania and are on a relentless path of taking their music to the next level.

The music is as dark and heavy as the coal and iron their home city was built upon, taking influences from some of death metal’s heaviest, most abrasive hitters: Morbid Angel, Gojira, Spawn of Possession and Decapitated, to name a few.

“We’re super stoked to be a part of the Metal Blade family! Being on a such a strong label with some of our favorite bands is truly an honor and we look forward to the future with Metal Blade.”

Listen to the demo version of the new song Rain Eater from the upcoming Metal Blade Records full-length debut, which will be recorded with Erik Rutan (Hate Eternal) at Mana Recording Studios in Tampa, FL in March of 2013.

Stay tuned to the band’s official Facebook page for updates from the studio and release date info.

About the Band:

The members honed their chops as high schoolers in various bands in the Reading scene, eventually coming together to form RIVERS OF NIHIL in 2009.

They recorded their first EP Hierarchy that year with Carson Slovak (Century), regularly toured the Northeast and Midwest, and scored local opening gigs for the likes of Decapitated, Decrepit Birth, Suffocation, Dying Fetus, and Misery Index. Two years later they regrouped with producer Len Carmichael to record their next EPTemporality Unbound, which saw the band earn recognition in the national metal scene as well as start to attract the attention of record labels and eventually saw the band signing with Metal Blade Records in late 2012.
