“I’m beyond excited to be working with Brian Slagel and all of the wonderful team at Metal Blade.

I can’t think of anyone I can put my faith and trust in more with my new album and where my career is headed. Metal Blade’s track record has stood the test of time. Brian has been responsible for a majority of bands that have influenced me and gotten me to where I am now.

It’s been a dream come true making this album with Flemming Rasmussen. Flemming is a Master at recording a band playing together and capturing the sound in the room of everything musically working together. After we finished tracking, the first person I wanted to play it for was Brian Slagel. Here we go!”

About Monte Pittman:
Born and raised in Longview, TX, Monte Pittman made the decision at 24 to move to Los Angeles to pursue a career as a professional musician, and unfortunately having to leave his family, friends, and band Myra Mains behind. Upon arrival in LA, he made ends meet by working at a local music store. Realizing he was better at teaching than selling, he left to start providing guitar lessons.

As fate would have it, his third student would end up being British filmmaker Guy Ritchie, who had just received a guitar from his then girlfriend, Madonna. Soon after, Monte was introduced to the iconic performer, and became her guitar teacher as well. A month later, Monte was invited to join Madonna on stage at the David Letterman Show to promote her album, Music.

Monte has since played guitar on all of Madonna’s live tours and albums, starting with the 2001 Drowned World Tour, and shares writing credits on some of her songs. Monte has also played guitar for the band Prong. He is credited with co-writing songs on Scorpio Rising and Power of the Damager to which he also added backing vocals and bass. He also played guitar on Prong’s live album 100% Live.

In November 2009, Monte released his debut acoustic solo album, The Deepest Dark. Almost a year after its release, a special bonus version of The Deepest Dark was released and immediately reached the No. 1 spot on the Best-Selling Acoustic Albums list at It was also No. 9 in the Top 10 Best-Selling CDs for the Fall of 2010. In 2011, Monte launched a Kickstarter campaign for his second album, Pain, Love & Destiny. It raised a staggering $65,500, making him the top rock musician to raise the most money on the crowd-funding platform at that time. Monte met his initial goal of $5,000 in under 24 hours. It was released later that year and within its first week made it to No. 1 Rock Album, No. 1 Pop Album, and made it onto the Top 10 Albums chart on CD Baby. In addition, it cracked the iTunes Top 200.

Monte performed at the 2012 Super Bowl with Madonna and toured around the world on the MDNA Tour. He also performed at the 2012 Artists In Music Awards where he was given an award for Best Solo Artist in addition to being nominated in four other categories. Monte has also been honored with a Career Achievement Award from the Hollywood F.A.M.E. Awards. The Los Angeles Music Awards nominated him for Best Male Singer/Songwriter and Best Modern Rock Album for Pain, Love, & Destiny.

In November of last year, M.P.3: The Power Of Three, Pt. 1 was released. It’s a stripped down acoustic EP marking the beginning of Monte and Flemming Rasmussen’s working relationship.

In 2013, Pittman, along with band members Kane Ritchotte on drums and Max Whipple on bass, went to Copenhagen to record the upcoming album with producer Flemming Rasmussen. This marks Monte’s return to heavy music.

(UnHolywood, Killafornia) – After being named by Kerrang! as one of the “50 Greatest Rockstars In The World Today” and among Alternative Press’s “100 Bands You Need to Know,” controversial industrial rocker Davey Suicide announced a phenomenally divergent line-up for his Hide Your Morals 2013 summer headline tour with special guests The Bunny The Bear & The Defiled.

Says Davey Suicide of the tour,

We’re stoked to be taking this show on the road. The circus is coming to town and we’re ready to kick everyone’s ass. Board ur windows, bring you wife and kids, and hide your morals.”

The Bunny The Bear will be touring in support their new Victory released album Stories.

After securing a Golden God for “Best British Newcomer” at last year’s Metal Hammer Awards, The Defiled will be making their way across the pond for their first ever US tour.

The Defiled also added,

We are over the fucking moon to announce we are gong to be embarking on our first ever US tour with Davey Suicide. After years of sweating it out in the UK and Europe we can’t wait to be able to take what we do to the States.

This year marks the ten year anniversary of the undeniably spine-crushing band MOUTH OF THE ARCHITECT. While many have anticipated the apocalypse in 2012, MOTA has been accurately predicting and creating the soundtrack for such a disaster since 2003. There is perhaps no better way to celebrate such a milestone than by releasing a new face melting full-length record, and MOTA has never failed in that regard.

Available June 25th on Translation Loss Records – Pre-Orders Up Now

MOTA teamed up Pitchfork to premiere the first track from the band’s new album Dawning. The song entitled It Swarms can be heard HERE. Dawning is available for pre-order HERE.

In 2004 they released Time and Withering with great success and followed up with a split CD alongside another Dayton, OH based band, KENOMA. After releasing the critically acclaimed The Ties That Blind in 2006 and the beautifully devastating Quietly in 2008, the band underwent about a million member changes before releasing The Violence Beneath EP in 2010.

The current lineup consists of drummer Dave Mann, guitarists and vocalists Steve Brooks and Kevin Schindel, keyboardist and vocalist Jason Watkins, and bassist Evan Danielson. The band plans to celebrate its ‘most glorious birthday’ by releasing a psychedelic-tinged sludge-rock masterpiece. Remaining under the long time label support of Translation Loss Records, their new album Dawning bludgeons its way to the top of their long catalog of doom rock greatness. These dudes last proved their heavy-metallic weight in gold when they made it through a volcanic eruption to play the Roadburn Festival on their 2010 European tour in support of The Violence Beneath. This year these well-worn road veterans plan on bringing their incredibly loud and extremely hairy brand of post-metal to a venue near you in support of Dawning. Of course, you have to live in the northern hemisphere to get your chance to witness this rock ‘n roll spectacle.

In support of Dawning MOUTH OF THE ARCHITECT will be touring this summer with Intronaut and Scale the Summit. The tour starts June 5th in Seattle, WA and runs through July 6th in Hollywood, CA. A complete list of dates can be found below.

The Documentary:
Narrated by David Ellefson (MEGADETH), Co-produced by Aaron Lewis (STAIND), this documentary by Fran Strine takes on a tragic truth – that those men that put their lives on the line to defend our freedom have come home to a world plagued by PTSD and homelessness. 1 in 7 homeless adults are veterans and over ¼ of homeless veterans suffer from mental illness, physical illness and substance abuse at the same time.

These sad truths moved a concerned public to donate en masse to get the film made leading to a rousing KICKSTARTER success. The film raised 190% of its funding goal with the soundtrack raising 120% of its funding goal. The film is currently available on CHILL ( and will see its official physical release along with its soundtrack on April 24.

“After engaging in conversations with these veterans living on the streets and hearing their stories, I knew this was the documentary I had to make and show that we, as citizens can make a difference,” – director/co-producer Fran Strine

The VA was approved $1.35 billion for the homeless in 2013 – a mere 0.035% of the $8.3 trillion US budget, says The White House Office of Management & Budget. Forbes adds that providing permanent housing for the chronic homeless would save taxpayers $3 billion.

The soundtrack for the film features members of many prominent rock bands. DC of EYE EMPIRE, a former soldier himself, said of his band’s involvement,

“I have always been sensitive to issues that face our troops Stateside & abroad. When our good friend Fran mentioned that he and Aaron were going to be making this film and that he would like for us to be involved with the music, we were very humbled.”

Vocalist, Pete Murray (previously of ULTRASPANK) called working with the likes of Ellefson and Mike Mushok of STAIND “an amazing experience.”

Murray continues, “Working with other musicians with different backgrounds and influences has been an incredible opportunity.”

In addition to his narration duties, MEGADETH’s David Ellefson contributed to the soundtrack.

“Lyrically these songs were inspired directly by the film and the people portrayed in it. In many ways, the Soundtrack continues the narrative of the film in music form. I am proud that the songs and people involved in making them took the subject matter to heart and used it as the springboard for our songwriting.” – David Ellefson

Composing score and soundtrack music was a labor of love for STAIND’s Mike Mushok. “In writing music to the film, I got to watch a scene and express how I feel about it by writing music to it,” explains Mushok.

“It was something that I really enjoyed doing and am happy with the way it ultimately turned out.”
