RAMMING SPEED Stream New Track, Reveal Album Info

Grinding Dissent is a track from RAMMING SPEED’s Kurt Ballou-tracked Prosthetic debut, Doomed To Destroy, Destined To Die, due out June 25 on CD, LP, cassette and digital download.

The band commented on the track as follows:

Grinding Dissent is largely about America’s facade of righteousness and freedom. A government that is ‘for the people’ may or may not have originally been the goal, but in this day and age, it’s obvious that protest and free speech aren’t welcome. Our police departments have military-grade weapons turned on civilians to keep us quiet while politicians smile and shake hands behind closed doors. Musically. the song starts off with punishing D-beat and ends with Ferrari-sized, Piña Colada-chugging twin guitar riffage! Put this shit on 11, crack a beer and scream at the sun.”

Head to PROSTHETIC’s web store now to check out pre-order packages for Doomed To Destroy, Destined To Die, which include a mail-order exclusive clear haze/neon green vinyl variant along with an exclusive t-shirt or long-sleeved shirt featuring the album’s artwork, featured above. The band is living up to their reputation as “one of the hardest-working bands in heavy metal” (Noisecreep) on a tour with Goatwhore, 3 Inches of Blood and Revocation; they will continue to tour the US with Valient Thorr and Gypsyhawk throughout the rest of the summer.

Ohio-based metal heathens SKELETONWITCH, whose rigorous 2012 tour schedule was capped off by a marathon 10-week U.S. tour last fall, will perform at select festivals in the coming weeks. First, the band will make an exclusive appearance at Austin‘s prestigious South By Southwest (SXSW) festival as headliners for Pitchfork’s annual Show No Mercy showcase on Wednesday, March 13, where they will perform at the House of Vans at Mohawk at 5:30 pm alongside acts such as Pallbearer, Trash Talk, Royal Thunder and labelmates (and recent tourmates) MUTILATION RITES.

A free download of the band’s song This Horrifying Force (The Desire To Kill) is available for the next 30 days via NPR’s “The Austin 100,” which features 100 songs by artists to discover at this year’s SXSW, by clicking HERE.

Soon after SXSW, the band will head to GodCity Studios in Salem, Massachusettes with acclaimed producer Kurt Ballou (Converge, Kvelertak, Black Breath) to record their highly anticipated new album, the follow-up to their critically acclaimed 2011 release Forever Abomination which cracked Billboard’s Top 200 and landed the band a cover feature in Decibel Magazine. A fall release is expected.

SKELETONWITCH have also been confirmed to headline the 2013 Calgary Metal Fest, set to take place at Dickens Pub in June; additional details can be found at CalgaryMetalFest.com.

RAMMING SPEED Signs With Prosthetic Records

PROSTHETIC RECORDS is proud to announce the signing of up-and-coming grind/thrash metallers RAMMING SPEED. The group’s full-length PROSTHETIC debut, Doomed To Destroy, Destined To Die, was recorded at GodCity Studios with Kurt Ballou (Converge, Kvelertak, Black Breath) and mastered at AudioSiege with Brad Boatwright (Sleep, High on Fire, SUNN O))), Tragedy). The album is tentatively set for a late spring/early summer release.

Drummer Jonah Livingston commented on the signing:

“We are incredibly excited to finally announce that we’ve signed on with Prosthetic Records, a label whose roster proves its dedication to all facets of heavy music. While our band has been extremely lucky to work with labels like Tankcrimes and Brutal Panda, this is an incredible opportunity and we’re ready for the step forward! See you on the road!”

Hailing from Boston, this heavy-hitting quintet – whose sound combines the charging rhythms of d-beat punk and the aggression of thrash with NWOBHM-worthy guitar harmonies and grind’s blinding speed – is no stranger to the metal scene, having previously released a variety of records, tapes and EPs through several labels. Their aggressive tour schedules across the U.S. and Europe with such notable acts as Trap Them, Holy Grail, Torche, Municipal Waste, Toxic Holocaust, Phobia, Black Tusk and Saviours. Ramming Speed will spend April and May touring with Goatwhore, 3 Inches of Blood and Revocation in the northeast and midwest; full dates can be found on the TOUR DATES page (see tab above).

Keep a lookout for further details on the group’s upcoming album on the band’s website: https://www.facebook.com/rammingspeed

“Venomous death/grind-laden, hair-swirling hardcore fury somewhere in the sonic Bermuda Triangle between Black Flag, Napalm Death and DRI” – Terrorizer

“A fuck-off great raft of pile-driver thrash, chock to the gills with bleed-speed riffs, sledgehammer heaviness and lyrical dystopia”Metal Hammer

“Listeners will be hard-pressed to find another band more enthusiastic about every corner of the thrash, grindcore and punk scenes…the perfect blend of thrash, punk and light-hearted enthusiasm.” – Lambgoat

SKELETONWITCH To Record New Album

Despite spending most of 2012 on the road in support of their critically acclaimed, Billboard-charting 2011 release Forever Abomination, including an intense headlining tour in which they played 63 shows in only 65 days, metal heathens SKELETONWITCH are showing no signs of slowing down, as the group has announced plans to record their fifth album in April with Kurt Ballou (Converge, Kvelertak, Black Breath) at GodCity Studios in Salem, Massachusetts.

The band checks in with the following update:

“Happy New Year! Hope everyone is off to a great start. First off, thanks to everyone who supported Skeletonwitch during this past year. We did some serious gigging in 2012, and your support on the road and of ‘Forever Abomination’ was overwhelming. We would be nowhere without you. It’s not just idle hands that do the devil’s work – we’re already deep in the process of writing a new record, which is shaping up to be quite an epic slab of metal, if we may say so ourselves. Keep an eye out for frequent updates. Drink it, smoke it, eat it!”

More information on the group’s new album, which is tentatively scheduled for a late summer/early fall release, will be revealed in the coming months.
