Here Comes GWAR B-Q!

Come celebrate GWAR‘s 30th year of conquest on this fucking shit-hole planet at the most ear-bursting, bone-crushing, mouth-watering, belly-bursting, beer-guzzling, nut-bustingest party of this or any summer! The date is set for the 6th Annual GWAR B-QSaturday, August 15th at Hadad’s Lake (7900 Osborne Turnpike Richmond, VA 23231).

This amazing milestone in GWAR‘s torrid history – 30 fucking years! – demands more than just a one-day party. The Scumdogs have set forth a slew of satellite events to be held across Richmond over the three-day weekend of August 14 through 16. GWAR fans will be busier and more fulfilled than during any time in their miserable existence!

Today, the official commercial for this year’s GWAR B-Q has been released. It can be found here http://youtu.be/14uWvkr0S-w

Watch it, worship your lords and masters GWAR, share it, then watch it again!

In other GWAR news, your Lords and Masters will be travelling back in time to commemorate the 20th Anniversary of the film Empire Records, in which they had a starring role.  GWAR will make an appearance during the anniversary Celebration in Brooklyn, NY April 8 – 10.  More details on GWAR‘s invasion of Brooklyn, NY can be seen HERE.

Finally March 23rd marked a sad anniversary in the GWAR family, as it was the one-year anniversary of founding member Dave Brockie’s (Oderus Urungus) final journey to Valhalla.  We celebrate him on this day as we celebrate and worship him every day.  Hail Oderus!

EYEHATEGOD Cancel Australia & Mexico Tour Dates

Displaying

On the heels of the recent cancellation of their Australian tour, EYEHATEGOD was regrettably forced to postpone their three-day run through Mexico as well.

In an official statement, the band notes: “We regret to have to cancel both our Australian and Mexican dates until further notice. Vocalist Mike IX Williams’ mental stability and health are major serious issues at this point, and we are very, very sorry for putting our fans and business partners in this miserable position. We feel horrible about these empty spaces in our schedule and will make up these tours as soon as possible. The cancellation of these tours is in no way any fault of the promoters or foreign booking agents. We hope our fans understand.”

Since part of the problem included long flights, EYEHATEGOD recently embarked upon two separate short runs of shows on the West and East coast, fully against doctor’s orders. These shows were found to be physically draining and a detriment, performance-wise, to Williams. Williams – who is currently dealing with exhaustion and chronic fatigue from a near nonstop tour schedule over the last five years — is resting, healing and catering to his health and will be ready to conquer Europe and the UK on tour this April.

Over two-and-a-half decades, EYEHATEGOD has helped define the NOLA sound: down-tuned, blues-inflected guitars awash in furious distortion, underpinning the tormented screams of Mike IX Williams over a thundering rhythm section. Following well over a decade-and-a-half between studio albums, EYEHATEGOD reemerged stronger and more determined than ever before with 2014’s EyeHateGod, their first for Housecore Records, the album placing the band in even higher regards with critics and fans abroad. An exclamation mark on an already storied career, a statement of rebirth, catharsis, self-preservation and a sign of things to come, the chart topping album destroyed its way through the press, including dominating year-end lists everywhere, including the coveted #1 spot of Spin’s 20 Best Albums Of 2014, the #14 spot of Pitchfork’s Best Metal Albums Of 2014, the #30 slot of Decibel’s Top 40 Albums Of 2014, the #14 position on Wondering Sounds’ 25 Best Metal Albums Of 2014, #8 on OC Weekly’s 10 Best Metal Albums Of 2014, #2 on Exclaim’s Top Ten Metal And Hardcore Albums Of 2014 and countless others, proving that EYEHATEGOD continues to burn down everything in their path and remains one of the most important extreme music acts in the world.

Orders for EyeHateGod can be placed via Housecore Records HERE.

Obscura Prepare First New Album in Four Years; Launch Digital Tab Book

Get The ‘Omnivium’ Guitar Tablature Book HERE

German progressive metal masters OBSCURA will enter Dreamsound Studios this April to begin recording drums for their highly anticipated new album and first full-length in over four years. The band will work once again with long time producer V. Santura (Cosmogenesis, Omnivium). The album will see a late 2015 release via Relapse Records. Guitarist / vocalist Steffen Kummerer commented on the upcoming material:

“We are all pleased with the new material which pairs the songwriting, technicality and arrangements of our previous albums with the creative input of members Linus Klausenitzer, Tom “Fountainhead” Geldschläger and Sebastian Lanser, while keeping our trademark prog riffing across the fusion and death metal landscape that makes Obscura sound unique. This album sees Obscura move a step further.”

While the band prepares the upcoming recordings, a digital tablature book of their critically acclaimed record Omnivium is available for pay-what-you-want download at the band’s website http://www.realmofobscura.com.
