ALLEGAEON Release Performance Demo; Tour Begins Friday

Colorado natives, Allegaeon, just completed a brand new performance demo video. This time, guitarist Greg Burgess and bassist Corey Archuleta show fans how they play Secrets of the Sequence, the epic closing track to their latest album, Formshifter. The video is streaming now at metalblade.com/allegaeon.

Beginning this Friday, Allegaeon is performing a series of headlining shows leading up to their US tour with Wretched, Abiotic, and Rivers of Nihil. The confirmed listing of dates can be found below, as well as on facebook.com/allegaeon.

Guitarist Greg Burgess comments on the tour:

“We are super stoked to be getting back on the road, and we think we’ve got a pretty fun set for the fans. Our headlining shows will be about an hour, playing songs from every release of our career, including the debut of a brand new song The Fibonacci Series. As for the bulk of the tour with Wretched, Abiotic, and Rivers of Nihil, we’re incredibly excited. We’ve been wanting to tour with our buddies in Wretched for a long time now, and are stoked to finally see it come to fruition. And it’s gonna be awesome to meet our label mates Abiotic and Rivers of Nihil! This tour is gonna blow peoples minds!! Bring your riot gear.”

Allegaeon’s second full-length album, Formshifter, has significantly surpassed its predecessor and debuted at #29 on the Billboard New Artist Chart and #99 on the Top Hard Music Albums Chart. This is a huge achievement for the band as they continue to carve out their foothold within the metal community.

Formshifter has been incredibly well received by press worldwide.

The UK’s Kerrang Magazine raves:

“It’s not just the magnificently blended barrage of monstrous riffs and insidious hooks. Nor is it solely due to the fact it sounds like the quartet are trying to bring the sky crashing down on your head. And it’s not just the wealth of complex leads that will make many guitarists petulantly sulk in the corner after a single exposure. It’s all of those elements – combined with great songwriting that makes the record truly special.”

“But the members of Allegaeon are so monstrously talented—see the entwined guitar harmonics, machine-gun drumming, and even the occasional, not insufferably acoustic interlude on the group’s heavily NWOBHM-shaded second LP, Formshifter—that they dig their way out of the doldrums of mere proficiency” – AVClub.com

“The new face of ruthless modern death metal” – Metal Hammer Magazine

Formshifter is a bewilderingly powerful album that is an essential of the year” – NoCleanSinging.com

“one of the landmark releases in melodic death metal in 2012… fans of pure metal that is both ambitious and true to its roots need this record in their lives. Now.” – Outburn Magazine

Prosthetic Records to Release GOJIRA Re-Issues

By popular demand, Prosthetic Records will soon issue gatefold double-LP editions of the two albums that rocketed the French progressive tech-death quartet GOJIRA from the European underground to international stardom. From Mars To Sirius and The Way Of All Flesh – two of the most acclaimed metal releases of the past decade – will be released on vinyl on August 27. Pre-orders are available now.

Selected praise for From Mars To Sirius:
* Decibel Magazine Top 10 of 2006
* “Epic…a masterpiece…9/10.” — Blabbermouth
* “One of the year’s freshest metal inventions” — L.A. Times
* Revolver Magazine #4 release of 2006

Originally issued overseas in 2005, From Mars To Sirius – released by Prosthetic in 2006, and never before available on LP in North America – was the Western Hemisphere’s formal introduction to GOJIRA. One of MetalSucks‘ Top 10 “best metal albums of the 21st Century so far,” the album was supported by U.S. tours with the likes of Lamb of God, Children of Bodom, Machine Head, Behemoth and Amon Amarth. The gatefold 2-LP set will be available in three 180-gram variants: “Eco-Green” (600 copies), “Mars Red” (200 copies) and “Sea Blue” (200 copies), the latter two of which are mail-order exclusives.

Selected praise for The Way Of All Flesh:
* Decibel Magazine Top 15 of 2008
* Revolver Magazine #2 release of 2008
* “likely to be every bit as vital 10 years from now” – Kerrang!
* Metal Hammer Magazine #5 release of 2008

Engineered, mixed and mastered by Logan Mader (Five Finger Death Punch, DevilDriver, Fear Factory), follow-up The Way Of All Flesh (2008) cemented GOJIRA’s status as one of metal’s most important acts. The band’s first release to crack the Billboard Top 200, the album – which features a guest appearance by Lamb of God front man Randy Blythe – was supported by tours with the likes of In Flames and All That Remains, in addition to a month touring North American arenas with Metallica. The gatefold 2-LP set marks the first time in three years that the album will be available on vinyl, and it will be offered in two new variants: 180-gram clear (500 copies), and a mail-order exclusive, standard-weight blue/white split vinyl (500 copies).

Over its 15-year history, Los Angeles-based Prosthetic Records has proudly helped to establish the careers of alumni such as Lamb of God, All That Remains, Animals As Leaders, The Acacia Strain and Kylesa, in addition to current roster heavyweights such as Skeletonwitch, Scale The Summit and Holy Grail. The label’s two GOJIRA releases are among the best-selling titles in its catalog.
