CLUTCH Receive Worldwide Accolades

2013 has been quite a year for Maryland Rockers CLUTCH. In March they released Earth Rocker, their tenth studio album.  Earth Rocker was recorded, mixed and produced by Machine (King Crimson, Lamb of God) at The Machine Shop in Belleville, New Jersey.  Earth Rocker garnered the band their highest Billboard Chart Number to date and was met with rave reviews and incredible fan reaction worldwide.  As the year comes to a close, publications release their annual lists of the best albums, and it should be no surprise that CLUTCH‘s Earth Rocker is featured prominently in many of them, both Nationally and Internationally.

Metal Hammer UK (One of the premier international metal publications) has named Earth Rocker its #1 Album of 2013. In Classic Rock Magazine’s (UK) poll, Earth Rocker comes in at #2 Album of 2013 only behind the legendary Black SabbathSpain‘s Rock Zone Magazine named CLUTCH their “Band of the Year”.  Sweden’s Close Up Magazine ranked Earth Rocker at #13 in their best albums of 2013 list. Earth Rocker placed highly in the top metal and rock album lists in many other publications and websites including The Village VoiceNew Noise MagazineMetal SucksLoudwire,  Pop Matters and Noisecreep to name a few.

“We are really happy to hear that Earth Rocker has made so many best of 2013 lists. Our shows this past year have been among the biggest and best of our history. The overwhelming response from our fans both old and new has meant the most to us. We look forward to seeing you all again in 2014!” says singer Neil Fallon.

In December, between Christmas and New Years, CLUTCH will be back on the road for their traditional holiday shows. Support on the holiday shows will come from Into Another, The Mike Dillon Band and Lionize. All dates and links to purchase tickets can be found below.  The Sword and Crobot will provide support on the January dates.

February 2014 will see CLUTCH head down under to Australia as they take part in the 2014 Soundwave Festival.  In addition to the Soundwave dates, CLUTCH will be playing a handful of headlining Australian shows.  These shows are set for February 20 in Sydney at The Metro, February 21 in Brisbane at The Zoo and February 27 in Melbourne at Prince Bandroom.  Tickets for the headline dates are selling fast and the shows are anticipated to sell out! Fans are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance for these shows to not miss out.  A poster for the Australian tour can be viewed HERE.

CLUTCH is currently booking a full UK tour that will start April 22 and run through May 9 in Ireland.  Confirmed dates, support and tickets links will be posted shortly at

http://www.pro-rock.com.

CLUTCH‘s Earth Rocker Live is now available in stores and online at the CLUTCH Merch Store.  This special and limited collectors’ item is a double vinyl picture disc set. The first LP is the studio version of Earth Rocker.  The second LP consists of live versions of the same tracks in the same sequence as the original.  This is not a live recording of one show. The individual tracks of the live version were recorded at different shows throughout the band’s May 2013 US tour: Houston and San Antonio (TX), Lincoln (NE), Indianapolis (IN) and Fargo (ND).  The stunning artwork displays the four Indian heads from the original package in all their colorful beauty: one for each side.

GLORIOR BELLI Reveal Upcoming Album Title Track

French black metallers with a heavy southern rock touch, GLORIOR BELLI, reveal the title song from their forthcoming album “Gators Rumble, Chaos Unfurls”. The third song to be released prior to street date is available for listening at Noisey, below. “Gators Rumble, Chaos Unfurls” will hit the shops on October 29 in Europe and November 12 in North America via Agonia Records.

GLORIOR BELLI

Consequently climbing the ladder of innovation and artistic development, the French band GLORIOR BELLI managed to work out a very own sound and view in the often stiff frames found within the black metal genre. Descriptions such as “Avant-garde black metal bluesmen” (Pitchfork) or “bluesy doom-sludge” (Metal Sucks) are only the two sides of the same coin, that is about to reveal a new flip. “Gators Rumble, Chaos Unfurls” – band’s fifth full-length release – is yet another milestone of an unusual relationship between southern stylistics and crushing heaviness, all tied up and sealed by a twisted yet still refreshing take on music, straight from the suburbs of Paris.

The successor to “The Great Southern Darkness” (Metal Blade, 2011) will be available as digi-pack CD12″ Vinyl and digitally.

Track list:

THE OCEAN Release New Video, Ready to Hit the Road

THE OCEAN launched a brand new video for Bathyalpelagic II: The Wish in Dreams from their most recent album, Pelagial. The video is the band’s first official music video, not counting previous videos composed of live footage, directed by Alexander Kraudelt and Lukas Hambach, produced by Frameshock, with additional visuals by Craig Murray. Bathyalpelagic II: The Wish in Dreams is streaming now on metalblade.com/theocean.

Guitarist and founding member Robin Staps comments:

“This clip is blending performance footage with excerpts from Craig Murray’s Pelagial movie, which was released along with the limited edition CD and vinyl boxset versions of the album. We’ve never really done a clip like that before, but it was great fun making this.”

Pelagial, the latest album from THE OCEAN, is received with open arms and ears across the globe – this is a band that are becoming widely regarded as leaders within their genre.

Metal Sucks declared The Ocean have “never written more intriguing music.”

“Mastodon‐shaped footprints, lush strings… [before] the submarine crashes at Melvins tempos” – Spin

“more luxurious, experimental and textural” – Decibel

“ambitious and adventurous” – Terrorizer

“melodrama, intimacy, grandeur, grace and big fucking riffs” – Kerrang

“With Isis gone, no one has yet taken their place as intelligent and sensitive masters of post‐metal but, with this, there’s no doubt that The Ocean are shoe‐ins for the title” – RockARolla

The latter’s emphasis is fitting considering The Ocean recently toured a number of sell out shows with another master of post‐metal, Cult of Luna. The Mastodon reference is relevant after they invited The Ocean out for their summer tour dates, and the diversity on display is never more apparent when you consider tours in the past few years with Dillinger Escape Plan, Opeth and Anathema. The Ocean has an army of fans, and undoubtedly the respect of their peers.

Diverse elements were honed and perfected on Pelagial, and this ethos is at the heart of the touring package for The Ocean’s headline European tour. For an album that treads a wild and creative path within and outside of the supposed boundaries of metal, Norway’s SHINING could not be a more appropriate addition to the touring bill. Their new album One One One was recently released and it’s direct and pulsating approach is gathering the same kind of response that saw 2010’s Blackjazz get rave reviews all over the world, with contemporaries such as Danko Jones and Mike Portnoy writing pieces praising the band. If you’ve seen them live then you’ll know how good they are; if you’ve not, you need to!

Poland’s TIDES FROM NEBULA meanwhile have mesmerized the underground and in 2013 they take a step up, releasing their new album via a brand new label. They bring postrock to this package, a welcome ingredient due to this genre touching aspects of Pelagial. Finally, France’s HACRIDE bring some serious, technical heaviness to the tour, as anyone who has heard their new album Back To Where You’ve Never Been will testify.

Prosthetic Records to Release GOJIRA Re-Issues

By popular demand, Prosthetic Records will soon issue gatefold double-LP editions of the two albums that rocketed the French progressive tech-death quartet GOJIRA from the European underground to international stardom. From Mars To Sirius and The Way Of All Flesh – two of the most acclaimed metal releases of the past decade – will be released on vinyl on August 27. Pre-orders are available now.

Selected praise for From Mars To Sirius:
* Decibel Magazine Top 10 of 2006
* “Epic…a masterpiece…9/10.” — Blabbermouth
* “One of the year’s freshest metal inventions” — L.A. Times
* Revolver Magazine #4 release of 2006

Originally issued overseas in 2005, From Mars To Sirius – released by Prosthetic in 2006, and never before available on LP in North America – was the Western Hemisphere’s formal introduction to GOJIRA. One of MetalSucks‘ Top 10 “best metal albums of the 21st Century so far,” the album was supported by U.S. tours with the likes of Lamb of God, Children of Bodom, Machine Head, Behemoth and Amon Amarth. The gatefold 2-LP set will be available in three 180-gram variants: “Eco-Green” (600 copies), “Mars Red” (200 copies) and “Sea Blue” (200 copies), the latter two of which are mail-order exclusives.

Selected praise for The Way Of All Flesh:
* Decibel Magazine Top 15 of 2008
* Revolver Magazine #2 release of 2008
* “likely to be every bit as vital 10 years from now” – Kerrang!
* Metal Hammer Magazine #5 release of 2008

Engineered, mixed and mastered by Logan Mader (Five Finger Death Punch, DevilDriver, Fear Factory), follow-up The Way Of All Flesh (2008) cemented GOJIRA’s status as one of metal’s most important acts. The band’s first release to crack the Billboard Top 200, the album – which features a guest appearance by Lamb of God front man Randy Blythe – was supported by tours with the likes of In Flames and All That Remains, in addition to a month touring North American arenas with Metallica. The gatefold 2-LP set marks the first time in three years that the album will be available on vinyl, and it will be offered in two new variants: 180-gram clear (500 copies), and a mail-order exclusive, standard-weight blue/white split vinyl (500 copies).

Over its 15-year history, Los Angeles-based Prosthetic Records has proudly helped to establish the careers of alumni such as Lamb of God, All That Remains, Animals As Leaders, The Acacia Strain and Kylesa, in addition to current roster heavyweights such as Skeletonwitch, Scale The Summit and Holy Grail. The label’s two GOJIRA releases are among the best-selling titles in its catalog.
