Berlin Proto-Metal Power Trio Set to Kick Off North American Headlining Tour

Blues-Bruised Band Reinterprets Metal’s Masters to Intoxicating, Addictive Effect; Bringing Amplified Live Show to Stateside Stages Now
Deluxe, 2-CD “Tour Edition” of New Album Abra Kadavar to be Released May 13!

Berlin-based psychedelic power rock trio KADAVAR launched their North American headlining tour in Houston, TX. The scheduled five week trek — presented by Scion AV — will see the band take the stage in 25 major markets across the U.S. and Canada, bringing its much talked about live show and deep daze retro-metal to as many music fans as possible. KADAVAR continues to thrill audiences across the globe, touring in support of its latest a self-titled debut, LP Abra Kadavar.

“We are excited to return to North America and our amplifiers are at the ready,” comments KADAVAR vocalist/guitarist Christoph Lindemann.

“We hope you are ready for what we are bringing your way. See you soon.”

The KADAVAR headlining trek kicks off on the heels of multiple, much-talked-about live performances as part of the 2014 SXSW Festival, where the trio was hailed as “super exciting” and “a must-see live band.”

Since the release of 2012’s eponymous debut album, KADAVAR has cast a spell over fans of solid riff-driven yet doom-like 70’s hard rock (à la BLACK SABBATH, PENTAGRAM) and has shared the stage with like-minded acts such as SLEEP, ELECTRIC WIZARD and SAINT VITUS. Now, music fans can witness for themselves the captivating power and excitement of KADAVAR’s vaunted live show as the North American tour is set to begin.

Additionally, Nuclear Blast Records will release a special “Tour Edition” of KADAVAR’s Abra Kadavar on May 13. The limited edition set will include the band’s latest album in its entirety packaged along with a second, full live CD, documenting the band’s undeniably memorable and powerful live show.

BATTLECROSS Name Shannon Lucas Session Drummer

BATTLECROSS completed work on their sophomore album, which will be due out this summer during their tour as part of the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival. Recording has been completed and the finishing touches are being applied to the tracks and art. During tracking, one of metal’s most acclaimed drummers, Shannon Lucas, stepped in as the session drummer for the album.

Lucas comments:

“Being a fan of Battlecross, it is an honor to be a part of their new record. I can’t wait for the world to hear this album.”

Producer Eyal Levi adds,

“I am so beyond excited for the chance to produce Shannon Lucas on the new Battlecross record. He’s one of the true BEASTS of metal drumming. The man’s skills are literally untouchable. Combine that with a badass rising star of a band and I think we’ve got the makings of a crushing record!”

As previously announced, Kevin Talley will be stepping in to play drums for the band on their two upcoming live performances, the New England Metal & Hardcore Fest (4/19) and the Orion Music & More Festival (6/08-6/09). Drummer Mike Kreger has parted ways with the band to focus on some new opportunities and attend to personal business. BATTLECROSS will announce their new permanent member once a final decision has been made.

The album, scheduled to be released in early summer, also features a guest guitar solo by Producer Jason Suecof, and will be mastered by Joey Vera of Armored Saint. Vera also mastered the band’s cover of Pantera’s Fucking Hostile, which was released as a single last summer.

LEGION Signs With EOne/Good Fight Music

(NEW YORK, NY) – Columbus metalers LEGION signed a worldwide deal with eOne / Good Fight music and will release a brand new record in the spring of 2013.

LEGION: Michael Guilford (Vocals), Chris Dragics (Guitar), Alex Heiberger (Guitar), Mason Prince (Bass), Jake Rodriguez (Drums)

The band is currently gearing up for the END OF THE WORLD TOUR supporting JOB FOR A COWBOY this winter. Guitarist Alex Heiberger comments on the news:

“Over the last year and a half or so, we have been hard at work writing and looking for the perfect label to help us release our new material. When we were told that eOne / Good Fight was interested in us we could not have been more stoked. There are so many bands on the label that have influenced us since the beginning and it is an honor to now be a part of a great label.”

Gaining exposure through their own DIY touring and performances at the New England Metal & Hardcore Festival, the band has come a long way in a short amount of time.

The video for Perverse Icon offered YouTube users a glimpse at just what Legion is capable of achieving on stage. Tracks like Disclosure of Sin and Righteous Dictation are emblematic of Legion’s skillful precision when it comes to balancing aggressive metallic destruction with trippy groove.
