“Harbinger” — a follow up to MUTILATION RITES acclaimed underground debut “Empyrean” — was released last summer via Prosthetic Records. Described as a “nightmarish merger between black, death, d-beat, and doom” (Pitchfork), the album was recorded by long-time friend and producer Kevin Bernsten (TRIAC) and mastered by James Plotkin (Pelican, Isis, SunnO))), Isis). Its eight tracks of “invigorating and nerve-wracking debauchery” (Dead Rhetoric) are perfectly accompanied visually by noted cover artist Valnoir (Psycroptic, Watain, The Black Dahlia Murder).
Just in time for the release of their highly anticipated new album “Titan,” the Greek symphonic death metal quartet SEPTICFLESH — who kicked off their long-awaited North American tour with Fleshgod Apocalypse this week — unveiled the final video in their behind-the-scenes “making-of” series.
Watch as they add the final touches to the recording alongside the Prague Philharmonic Orchestra and Choir below:
“Titan” — the band’s Prosthetic debut — has been lauded as “the music of a Biblical apocalypse” (About.com/HeavyMetal) while scoring a near-perfect rating from Outburn, who praised its “grand symphonic orchestration and thunderous percussion.”
Mixed and mastered by acclaimed producer Logan Mader (Gojira, Fear Factory, Cavalera Conspiracy), “Titan” consists of 10 epic, resounding tracks the band self-describes as “the ultimate death metal soundtrack for your darkest dreams.”
Pick up a copy of “Titan” on 2 CD Digi-pak (featuring an extra disc of five orchestral bonus tracks) or Gatefold 2 LP from the band at one of their upcoming co-headlining shows throughout North America with Fleshgod Apocalypse, or from the Prosthetic webstore HERE. Digital downloads are also available now via iTunes (Standard / Deluxe) and Amazon MP3 (Standard/Deluxe).

Hailed by Revolver as their “most dangerous declaration to date…contain(ing) some of the catchiest songs they’ve ever written,” TRAP THEM‘s long-awaited sophomore Prosthetic release “Blissfucker” is available now! A limited-edition clear vinyl variant is now available at independent record shops throughout America, so make sure to check your local shop to scoop one up before they’re gone! A list of participating stores can be found at this location.
Last week, the crust/punk/hardcore quartet performed live at the annual Copenhell Fest in Denmark. You can view a fan-filmed clip of TRAP THEM performing their new song “Lungrunners” from the festival below:
Having teamed up once again with Kurt Ballou (Converge, Skeletonwitch) — who previously recorded the band’s groundbreaking 2011 release “Darker Handcraft” — TRAP THEM founders Ryan McKenney (vocals) and Brian Izzi (guitars) recorded “Blissfucker” at Godcity Studios with the addition of Brad Fickiesen (drums) and Galen Baudhuin (bass). “Blissfucker” contains 45 minutes of unrestrained, unmedicated, unapologetic displays of depression, desperation and blasphemy.
TRAP THEM will perform select dates along the East Coast over the summer, including both nights of this year’s Deathwish Fest alongside Converge. A full list of appearances can be found below:
7/18 Dover, NH – Sonny’s Tavern (w/ Coliseum)

Italian atmospheric unit NERO DI MARTE will be releasing a split 7″ EP with Void of Sleep after both bands’ gear and equipment were stolen before a recent show in Rome.
The band stated:
“In less than 30 minutes, someone broke into our van and was able to take everything. It happened in broad daylight near a police station in Rome, despite there being a massive amount of police forces surveilling the area but, alas, no security cameras. Guitars, amps, pedal boards, drums, merchandise and personal belongings… a total of 25,000€ was stolen from both bands.”
The EP will consist of a new track from each group, which will be recorded at Studio 73 in Ravenna, Italy. The bands have set up a fundraiser through Indiegogo containing packages including signed merchandise, Skype lessons and even the opportunity for your own private show HERE:

NERO DI MARTE released their self-titled debut last spring. The album, available HERE, received high ratings from the press, including a 4/5 star review from Revolver (which described the band as “a gifted and talented love child of Leviathan-era Mastodon and latter-day Death”). Having previously performed in Europe alongside acts including Godflesh, Carcass, Immolation, Cynic, Decapitated, Red Fang and Svart Crown, the band recently completed first-ever North American tour alongside Gorguts and Origin.
Norwegian industrial jazz-metalists SHINING are excited to announce dates for a headlining North American tour this fall, including the group’s first-ever performances in Canada. This marks the group’s first North American activity since an acclaimed set at a South By Southwest in 2012. Support acts will be announced in the coming weeks.
Front man Jørgen Munkeby made the following statement:
“It’s about f**king time we come over to the States’ has become quite a mantra for me in the last few years. So after a while of fooling around with a bunch of different support tour options, we just decided to grab the bull by its horns and book our own headliner tour! It’s going to be some crazy nights of pounding Blackjazz energy you don’t want to miss!”
SHINING released the completion of their avant-garde “Blackjazz” trilogy, “One One One,” via Prosthetic Records earlier this year. Mixed and co-produced by Sean Beaven (NIN, Marilyn Manson, Slayer) and mastered by Tom Baker at Precision Mastering (A7X, Deftones, Ministry), the album was described as “a corrosive and creative hybrid of industrial vocals and beats, jazz signatures and black metal aesthetics” by Noisey while being likened to Nine Inch Nails and King Crimson by Pitchfork due to its “throbbing electronics.”

MERCENARY unveiled another track from their new album, Through Our Darkest Days, due out in North America on July 30. Check out Generation Hate below.
Says guitarist Jakob Mølbjerg,
“In contrast to the title track which we put out some weeks ago, the song Generation Hate is a heavy, fast and furious f*cker which we felt was perfect to show the range and diversity of the new album. Enjoy!”
Through Our Darkest Days scheduled for July 30 release in North America
Through Our Darkest Days, recorded with longtime collaborator Jacob Hansen (Volbeat, Heaven Shall Burn), commemorates the 15th anniversary of the release of Danish melodic death metalists’ debut album. Featuring a combination of the band’s latest material along with much of the traditional melodic and melancholic elements of previous MERCENARY albums, the album uses the journey through existential darkness and the ability to break through it as its primary theme.
The cover art, seen above, was designed by Mnemic guitarist Mircea Eftemie (Soilwork, Illdisposed) and is said to symbolize “a darkness that we (Mercenary) have gone through as a band, which we feel we have finally put behind us.”
You can pre-order the album directly from the PROSTHETIC web shop along with an exclusive t-shirt here: http://www.indiemerch.com/prostheticrecords/item/20121. Grab your copy now!

By popular demand, Prosthetic Records will soon issue gatefold double-LP editions of the two albums that rocketed the French progressive tech-death quartet GOJIRA from the European underground to international stardom. From Mars To Sirius and The Way Of All Flesh – two of the most acclaimed metal releases of the past decade – will be released on vinyl on August 27. Pre-orders are available now.
Selected praise for From Mars To Sirius:
* Decibel Magazine Top 10 of 2006
* “Epic…a masterpiece…9/10.” — Blabbermouth
* “One of the year’s freshest metal inventions” — L.A. Times
* Revolver Magazine #4 release of 2006
Originally issued overseas in 2005, From Mars To Sirius – released by Prosthetic in 2006, and never before available on LP in North America – was the Western Hemisphere’s formal introduction to GOJIRA. One of MetalSucks‘ Top 10 “best metal albums of the 21st Century so far,” the album was supported by U.S. tours with the likes of Lamb of God, Children of Bodom, Machine Head, Behemoth and Amon Amarth. The gatefold 2-LP set will be available in three 180-gram variants: “Eco-Green” (600 copies), “Mars Red” (200 copies) and “Sea Blue” (200 copies), the latter two of which are mail-order exclusives.
Selected praise for The Way Of All Flesh:
* Decibel Magazine Top 15 of 2008
* Revolver Magazine #2 release of 2008
* “likely to be every bit as vital 10 years from now” – Kerrang!
* Metal Hammer Magazine #5 release of 2008
Engineered, mixed and mastered by Logan Mader (Five Finger Death Punch, DevilDriver, Fear Factory), follow-up The Way Of All Flesh (2008) cemented GOJIRA’s status as one of metal’s most important acts. The band’s first release to crack the Billboard Top 200, the album – which features a guest appearance by Lamb of God front man Randy Blythe – was supported by tours with the likes of In Flames and All That Remains, in addition to a month touring North American arenas with Metallica. The gatefold 2-LP set marks the first time in three years that the album will be available on vinyl, and it will be offered in two new variants: 180-gram clear (500 copies), and a mail-order exclusive, standard-weight blue/white split vinyl (500 copies).
Hop in the studio with DARKANE vocalist Lawrence Mackrory as he records the vocals for the band’s new album The Sinister Supremacy and discusses his return to the band after 15 years in the latest video update (click image below).
Described as a “high-octane hybrid between melodic death metal and thrash metal with a slightly progressive undercurrent” (Ghostcult), the stunning 12-track album, recorded by Daniel Bergstrand (In Flames, Meshuggah, Behemoth), showcases the resurgence of DARKANE after five years. Praised for its “sweeping orchestral interludes” (Metal Injection) as well as it’s “dazzling, punctuated riffs” (Dead Rhetoric), the album expands the boundaries of extreme metal while showcasing a darker and heavier DARKANE.
Called “the missing link between SYL, Fear Factory and At The Gates” (Kerrang!), DARKANE has toured the world with Testament, Meshuggah, Soilwork and Death Angel. The band’s current lineup consists of Mackrory, Christofer Malmström – Guitars, Klas Ideberg – Guitars, Jörgen Löfberg – Bass, and Peter Wildoer (Arch Enemy, James LaBrie) – Drums.
Out now via PROSTHETIC RECORDS in North America, The Sinister Supremacy is available now via the Prosthetic webshop (http://bit.ly/DarkaneTSSus) and iTunes, plus request DARKANE on The Welding Room radio program.
