MERCENARY Reveal Second Track From Upcoming Release

MERCENARY unveiled another track from their new album, Through Our Darkest Days, due out in North America on July 30. Check out Generation Hate below.

Watch the Video

Says guitarist Jakob Mølbjerg,

“In contrast to the title track which we put out some weeks ago, the song Generation Hate is a heavy, fast and furious f*cker which we felt was perfect to show the range and diversity of the new album. Enjoy!”

Through Our Darkest Days scheduled for July 30 release in North America

Through Our Darkest Days, recorded with longtime collaborator Jacob Hansen (Volbeat, Heaven Shall Burn), commemorates the 15th anniversary of the release of Danish melodic death metalists’ debut album. Featuring a combination of the band’s latest material along with much of the traditional melodic and melancholic elements of previous MERCENARY albums, the album uses the journey through existential darkness and the ability to break through it as its primary theme.

The cover art, seen above, was designed by Mnemic guitarist Mircea Eftemie (Soilwork, Illdisposed) and is said to symbolize “a darkness that we (Mercenary) have gone through as a band, which we feel we have finally put behind us.”

You can pre-order the album directly from the PROSTHETIC web shop along with an exclusive t-shirt here: http://www.indiemerch.com/prostheticrecords/item/20121. Grab your copy now!

DARKANE Post Final “Making-Of” Video

Hop in the studio with DARKANE vocalist Lawrence Mackrory as he records the vocals for the band’s new album The Sinister Supremacy and discusses his return to the band after 15 years in the latest video update (click image below).

Vocalist Lawrence Mackrory speaks about return to the band

Described as a “high-octane hybrid between melodic death metal and thrash metal with a slightly progressive undercurrent” (Ghostcult), the stunning 12-track album, recorded by Daniel Bergstrand (In Flames, Meshuggah, Behemoth), showcases the resurgence of DARKANE after five years. Praised for its “sweeping orchestral interludes” (Metal Injection) as well as it’s “dazzling, punctuated riffs” (Dead Rhetoric), the album expands the boundaries of extreme metal while showcasing a darker and heavier DARKANE.

Called “the missing link between SYL, Fear Factory and At The Gates” (Kerrang!), DARKANE has toured the world with Testament, Meshuggah, Soilwork and Death Angel. The band’s current lineup consists of Mackrory, Christofer Malmström – Guitars, Klas Ideberg – Guitars, Jörgen Löfberg – Bass, and Peter Wildoer (Arch Enemy, James LaBrie) – Drums.

Out now via PROSTHETIC RECORDS in North America, The Sinister Supremacy is available now via the Prosthetic webshop (http://bit.ly/DarkaneTSSus) and iTunes, plus request DARKANE on The Welding Room radio program.

MERCENARY Streaming New Album Title Track

Melodic death metallists MERCENARY unveiled the title track from their upcoming album, Through Our Darkest Days. You can stream the entire song via Soundcloud.

The band commented,

“We are proud to let you all hear the title track of our new album. We put a lot of effort, heart and soul into this beast and can’t wait to unleash it on the world! For us, the song is very iconic and it embodies the melancholic and grand sound that has always been a trademark for Mercenary.”

Through Our Darkest Days — the group’s seventh studio album — is scheduled for release in North America on July 30 via Prosthetic. It was recorded with longtime collaborator Jacob Hansen (Volbeat, Heaven Shall Burn) at Hansen Studios in Denmark and features cover art by Mircea Eftemie (Soilwork, Mnemic).

The band also announced a series of tour dates in its native country, which will follow their European headlining tour.

Says the band,

“We are psyched to announce that we will be tearing up Denmark in September and October with our good friends Essence! We will make sure that no heads are left unshaken! We look forward to share the stage with Essence once again and delivering ONE HELL of a show every night! So get your asses down to the shows and bring the action!”

Over the course of its career, MERCENARY earned extensive acclaim for its juxtaposition of melody and melancholy, as well as its unique musical mixture of the progressive, power, death and thrash metal subgenres. The group has twice performed at the annual ProgPower USA festival and toured their native continent extensively with Megadeth, Arch Enemy, Nevermore, King Diamond, Death Angel and Symphony X, in addition to playing such prominent festivals as Wacken, Graspop and Dynamo.

New DARKANE Album On PROSTHETIC RECORDS This Summer

The Swedish quintet DARKANE combined melodic death metal with technical thrash to stirring effect for 15 years. They just joined forces with PROSTHETIC RECORDS to release their upcoming album The Sinister Supremacy, which marks the band’s first new music in five years, is scheduled for release on July 2 in North America and will feature the return of vocalist Lawrence Mackrory, back in the Darkane fold for the first time since the group’s 1999 debut Rusted Angel.

DARKANE was originally formed in 1998 by guitarist Christofer Malmström, drummer Peter Wildoer and bassist Jörgen Löfberf who, along with guitarist Klas Ideberg, recorded a few tracks for a demo featuring Björn “Speed” Strid on vocals, who left DARKANE shortly after due to his commitments in Soilwork. The band then recorded their first full-length, “Rusted Angel, with Daniel Bergstrand (In Flames, Meshuggah, Dimmu Borgir, Vildhjarta) who introduced them to vocalist Lawrence Mackrory. They made their first international appearances alongside Soilwork and Naglfar, but due to scheduling conflicts, Mackrory was unable to complete the tour and left the band soon after. Over the next few years, the band signed with Nuclear Blast Records, released a number of acclaimed records and toured around the world with acts including Testament, Meshuggah, Fear Factory, Soilwork and Devin Townsend’s Strapping Young Lad.

Stay tuned for more information on The Sinister Supremacy in the near future.
