This is Tribune‘s second cross Canada Tour since 2012, when they toured across the US and Canada in support of their last release Elder Lore/ The Dark Arts.

The Vancouver quintet unleashed their concept album ‘Tales’ during October 2013 via their indie label Corpse Corrosion Music. The release was inspired entirely by literature and features a wide array of influences from Homer to Mary Shelley to H.P. Lovecraft, to more extreme musical influences such as Carcass, Death and At The Gates. The band’s appetite for more melodic and more brutally heavy sounds to follow-up 2011’s Elder Lore/The Dark Arts is demonstrated with their collusion of extremity and accessibility that bleeds into the melting pot and their fresh take of progressive death metal.

High On Fire – Fertile Green OFFICIAL VIDEO

HIGH ON FIRE just released the first official live recordings of its career with the two volume set Spitting Fire Live, which has been hailed as “high-volume intensity” by the Austin Chronicle, “hot as the infernos” by Pitchfork and a “documentation of the band’s undiminished ferocity onstage” by the SF Weekly.  Recorded over a two evening NYC headlining stint at both NYC’s Bowery Ballroom and Brooklyn’s Music Hall of Williamsburg last winter, Spitting Fire Live showcases HIGH ON FIRE at its incendiary best, containing songs from each of the band’s critically acclaimed studio albums including last year’s celebrated De Vermis Mysteriis.

About HIGH ON FIRE:

Universally recognized as one of the most potent acts in music today, HIGH ON FIRE creates modern heavy metal that merges primal fury and aggression, hesher bombast and hall of fame heaviness.  Described as “a supersonic exercise in conquest by volume,” HIGH ON FIRE has rewritten the hard rock rule book since its formation in 1998, forging a style and sound that is both critically celebrated and absolutely unique.  The group features vocalist and cult guitar hero Matt Pike — also a founding member of the famed underground band SLEEP — along with powerhouse drummer Des Kensel and talented bassist Jeff Matz.  Pike was named as one of Rolling Stone’s “New Guitar Gods” and is one of rock’s most charismatic figures. HIGH ON FIRE’s latest album De Vermis Mysteriis was released on April 3, 2012.

A darker and more mature effort, Psychonaut brings forth Fatality’s trademark energy and commitment to drunken mayhem. Tracks like ‘Thoughts Collide’ and ‘Before The Collapse’ delve deep into the sodden minds of their creators, bubbling with the strange alchemy of pop culture. Psychonaut is an exploration of the inner landscape of the mind, where addled thoughts and horror-polluted dreams are held up to musical scrutiny. Monstrous, ambitious, and sardonically funny as ever, Fatality are taking their unique sound and boundless energy to the next level.

About:

Toronto, Canada’s high-energy, modern thrash monsters Fatality have been cranking out wise-cracking, beer-drenched nightmares together since 2003. Known for their wild, riotous live performances and their peerless work ethic, they have been independently booking and promoting their own shows, creating great merch, touring North America, and making some great tunes along the way. Few bands embody the DIY spirit as fully as Fatality consistently do, and no other bands have as much fun working their asses off.

Fatality’s debut effort, Beers From The Grave, was an irreverent, horror-themed album that eschewed seriousness in favour of hard living and good times. Decibel Magazine quipped that, on Beers From The Grave, “solos fly with reckless abandon, the bass is audible and practically so are the beers being cracked open. These guys must have awesome parties.” Hellbound.ca stated that Fatality are “a bundle of crass, explosive, obnoxiously positive energy spewing beer and shrapnel.” Part homage to classic zombie apocalypse horror and part retro-thrash ruckus, Beers From The Grave was an exciting, riotously messy debut.

After supporting Beers From The Grave with East coast Canadian tours, and being invited to share the stage with the likes of Exodus, Municipal Waste, Holy Grail and Razor, the thrash rockers went back to the studio and emerged with still more new material. Three rough-and-tumble, irresistibly catchy singles — “T.F.E.S.”, “Uppercut” and “Hammerfist” — were bundled together as a free EP. While most bands would have simply released a free record and called it a day, Fatality supported their singles with North American tours, winning hearts, destroying livers and splitting eardrums along the way. After those adventures, Fatality went into a period of hiatus. They emerged from this creative cocoon and re-instated their original drummer, Mason LeVon (brother to guitarist and vocalist Spencer LeVon, who replaced longtime friend and skinsman Andrew Suarez), and new musical vision. In early 2012, the band began writing a brand-new full-length, ‘Psychonaut’, unquestionably their most ambitious project to date.

MAGNUS RISING Studio Footage, Live Dates

Whatever It Takes is the title of new, hard-hitting album from Canadian heavy-metallers, MAGNUS RISING. Check out the official album teaser with some great studio and live footage here: http://vimeo.com/50507783.

In other news, MAGNUS RISING can now announce that they will be performing at a festival in Canada this August with headliners 3 Inches of Blood. More details soon. Also, the band is finishing up on their new music video for the The Drill.

Whatever It Takes is about making music on the band’s terms and defying the odds. MAGNUS RISING have soared, trekking back and forth across the country, always working to rock bigger crowds in more bad-ass venues. In their western home, they’ve opened for metal powerhouses Iced Earth, Forbidden and Raven – bands who have showed them that time is irrelevant. Their dedication has paid off in droves building a sound all their own. Layered with emotion, feeling and aggression, MAGNUS RISING is reminiscent of a passionate punch in the jaw.
